Indeed.
The best example I can give you is that in Peru, they had a Japanese president.
Most of the Japanese in migrants I have seen in Argentina, were already second generation, and their parents used to have a dry cleaner laundry - do not ask me why -
The kids went to the university and I have seen one of the best specialists and in the hospital I used to work, the more requested and known physician that did extraordinary endoscopic surgeries was a Japanese descendant. Certainly he had not been the only remarkable good professional from Japanese origin that I have ever seen over there and all over the world.
