The Bible and countless writings attribute things to God which cannot be substantiated. One of the ten Commandments prohibits taking the Lord's name in vain. I wonder if people who claim that what they are doing is God's will, really believe there is a God.

I'm not sure that God would particularly care. Would you care if some plankton blamed you for everything that went wrong?
Trying to put human feelings and emotions into the concept of God is pointless. Anything capable of creating a universe is obviously far more complicated and intricate than a human, it is simply too powerful for us to possibly start to understand.
If God is petty enough to care what humans think of him, then I'm sure we've all done something to upset him at one point.

Another way to look at it is that if God created everything then everything is his responsibility. Therefore everything that goes wrong is directly or indirectly his fault.

By the way, noone claiming to do God's will is telling the truth. They are either insane, deluded or just plain lying.

Remember we are created in the image of God. That means we have the same emotions He has. Yes He gets upset when accusations are made as you spoke of.
Case in point. A person claims that God does not exist. He is taking God's name in vain.
God will not be mocked. ><>

People usually blame god for things that they have caused but will not admit. God has given us all free will at birth and that is why so many horrible things happen, God will not come in person and stop it but he will punish people for their actions. God wants us to turn to him in times and tragedy and heartache, that is why so many people have to go through a hardship before they truly accept God into their life. In today people ask that God be taken out of school, the workplace, the media, and everywhere else and i think God is going to oblige time to time and that is why we are seeing so many horrible things happen

Jesus said, "We live in a world full of trouble..." (It's true, it's in Red Letters in my Bible).

The father of lies would have you believe that God Our Father is "doing this to them." But we live in a world full of trouble.

John 10:10 The thief comes to kill, to steal and to destroy but I come to give you life and give it more abundantly. (Again, Red Letters)

I love it when people get on here and say things like "there's no proof, cannot be substantiated, etc." Like what they are saying is completely true and they have some "proof" to back up their comments. I just find it amusing...that's all

Grace to you and God Bless!

(P.S. If what you are doing is Glorifying God and His Kingdom then it's his will. If not, it's your will and there's a huge difference)!

taurus,
the BULL, right?

I guess it bothers you that you are not God, and wasn't there to do all those miracles yourself, eh?

When it's all said and done, what will be there to substantiate you?

If the Ten Commandments were always looked at as ignorantly as you look at them, I wonder how any of them would be capable of functioning properly.

Are you a spaz about everything?

People say god is forgiving but a slightly more logical conclusion (if we assume he's omnipotent) is that he's just plain apathetic. He doesn't give a crap about what humans do, and isn't going to intervene. He's just fine watching his soaps. Assuming they have the concept of soaps on a higher plane of existence...
