I like to shop all year for sale stuff to give as gift for holidays & birthdays, & am on a tight budget as well.
I love www.collectionsetc.com & they often have online sales & free shipping
Also I go to www.americangreetings.com
for a small annual fee you can download all kinds of greeting cards & also I love the 'Create & Print' section for craft stuff & making gift bags & projects
If u r a member you can add up to 2 other people at a time to your account FREE. (Nice perk or gift if you have other crafty friends)

I saw a great idea on Oprah once: she showed a Christmas tree
After Christmas the family took off the ornaments & decorated it for New Years with hats, streamers, noisemakers, horns, etc
Then for February; hearts & cupids & valentines
And in March : St Patricks stuff
April; Easter stuff
May; spring stuff etc...etc...etc
You get the picture
It was really cute & you don't have to 'put up the tree' every year
(shop "after the holiday $ale$ " for next years stuff)

Another good place to shop www.lakeside.com
however not as good for last minit shopping ( longer ship time & backorders) but still nice gifts & inexpensive!

Also I like to print photos from www.flickr.com
large sized & printed on glossy then framed in clearance priced frames from my local Walgreens
At 'flickr' you can find beautiful photos of ANYTHING
My sister's got a wall of framed Butterflies & Flowers

Sorry about the long answer ( but Frugal is my middle name)
and I hope you can use some of my tips!

Mum's mum replaced into solid at crochet artwork, table mats, chair decrease back covers and so on. and he or she taught me some hardship-free stitches. i won't be able to do what she did though. My dad's mum replaced right into a very magnificent embroiderer. It replaced into so neat that both area ought to correctly be used because the right area. She taught me the thanks to attempt this and that i will very nearly do it as smartly as she did yet my undesirable eyesight now prevents me doing it. Knitting socks and repairing them very smartly replaced into yet another of her skills. She taught me to darn also (yet i have under no circumstances like knitting) and my darning wasn't undesirable in any respect yet i does no longer favor to do it now. Grandad and pa has handmade socks from her and favored them. We, the grandkids, received scarves, gloves and the lads received balaclava helmets also. maximum folk of that technology had skills which led to someone receiving something to placed on made by them. no longer having a T.V. leaves extra time to apply those skills. each and every man or woman spends too a lot time both watching T.V. or making use of the web to revive those previous skills. unhappy truly.
