Stolen Lands?

I was watching some video, of a protest at Baldwin Park, Cali. I think..And the mexicans were wearing shirts that said "Stolen Lands". What lands have we stolen from them?

Texas wasn't paid for. Texas fought for their independence. So they couldn't possibly be talking about my precious Texas. I learned this two years ago in seventh grade.

I'm not sure of ALL the land that was "stolen" from Mexico, but after living in California for more than 27 years, I can't ignore the fact that every other street is named in Spanish. Coincidence? I think not. Also, some of the oldest Catholic missions are located here. Coincidence? Again, I think not. Having the largest Latino population in the country is revealing. And lest we forget, some of the tastiest Mexican cuisine is served right here in sunny Southern California, coincidence? Thank God!!

Parts of present-day Arizona, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and Texas were stolen fair and square with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848 for the sum of fifteen million dollars. That ain't just a bargain, that's a steal if there ever was one.

Texas is a bit more interesting, since it was an independent state when it joined the U. S. A., however, those who proclaimed the independence were US people, so practically it was "stolen" too.

Anyway, it's history now. Anyone could reclaim anything. Let's give back the whole American continent to Indians... what's more, we should all go back to the Middle East! LOL

The mexicans came from Spain they took it from the indian but the difference is that we came here first they came following the pilgrams only took the other road that leads to mexico unless there ancestors are Aztecs. The mexicans are only good for talking and complaining they should be all deported why? cause they dont help they say they are welling to work the lower end job that the white people dont want well know one is forcing them to be farmers or janiters and still they complain. Like look at my step brother he talks and complain he has been to jail alot of times and i still dont get it why do they let him out cause the judge does not know how to do his job now my parents are paying the price for adobting this fellow. i never liked him why? cause those same reasons i wrote above.

radsaturn has a good point. The US army was in Mexico City. They didn't have much choice.

We paid "War Reparations" of about $15M. Today that is about $380M.

That is like a major bargain, but hey, we could have just stiffed 'em too. That's kinda the American way too. We needed the land for westward rail lines and such.

If all that land was Mexico why didn't they reclaim it at the time it was taken. Why did they just walk away from it all, wait until 2006 to bring it up again and make it an issue. Why is it all they do is complain. But you don't see Mexico sending any cash to any of these places where most of their displaced citizens live and claim it's our land.

Like All of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Nevada and Colorado. that Spain claimed and then Mexico claimed after they defeated the Spanish.
And then the U.S. took over after the Texans defeated the Mexicans.
