Assuming Tyson is just boxing, he would hit the ground as soon the MMA fighter got a hold of his legs. (Tyson would be unused to trying to punch someone that comes in so low.)
Keep in mind that a lot of the power behind the punch comes from the lower body. I'm sure Tyson could still punch a wallop while lying on his back, but not enough to take out a good MMA fighter. It would then be just a matter of time before some sort of submission hold takes him out.
If this fight takes place after Tyson puts in some MMA training, then it would be a totally different matter.

Mike Tyson was pretty bad in his day. I think he would have made an interesting UFC fighter, but he would have to learn a thing or two about ground fighting. I don't think he wants anything to do with UFC these days, though. If he did he could probably get a fight no problem. It would sell a lot of tickets to see Mike Tyson take someone on in the octogon, so I'm willing to bet they'd sign him up in a heartbeat. On top of that Tyson is pretty broke, so I'm sure if he thought he had a chance he would. The thing is he doesn't know anything about defending leg kicks, wrestling, or submissions. There are a lot of guys with serious knock out power that lose all of the time in UFC and Pride for those same reasons.

It is bullshit! Mike Tyson won't knock UFC fighter out with single punch! It will take few more than that. So that should give pretty much every UFC fighter enough time to get Tyson to ground and force him to tap out under thearten of having his limbs break into two.

Mike Tyson wouldn't last the first round in UFC. He is a stand-up-only fighters. Those type guys get messed up in the Octagon. If you only know one fighting style you are not going to make it too far in any MMA type fighting. I wish he would do it. I would LOVE to see him get his sorry butt kicked-again!!
Tyson-vs-Arlovski...The Pitbull would make Tyson wish he had never stepped into the ring!

Tyson would be lost in the Octogon, it is a whole other world.
When Mike was 19 he had knock out power but he is old now. plus I do not think he would be able to handle a grappler.
Mike would lose.....

If Mike Tyson was fighting in this day and age, most of the UFC fighters could beat him no problem.
If he fought UFC in his prime, it would be tougher.

mike tyson was offered to go into UFC, and he refused. boxers (usually) know nothing about martial arts outside of boxing. low kicks would take them off guard, as will most takedowns.

Tyson is getting old. Plus, his reach is not that long. Remember the fights with Holyfield.
