or does it mention "trinity"?

2006-07-27 19:34:09 · update #1

both "Trinity" and "Bible" are mentioned in the Holy Qur'an.
Chapter 004-Verse 171.
O people of the Book(Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah and His Word, ("Be!" - and he was) which He bestowed on Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (Ruh) created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: "Three (TRINITY)!" Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allah is (the only) One Ilah (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is AllSufficient as a Disposer of affairs.

the bible means book or collection of books.. The first bible did not have 1 john 2 john and other books. the bible we have now is just a cannon that the counsil of Niacin decided on. The trinity is not menton in the bible but most christians believe they are one and must be a trinity. This is again was made by the Catholic church. St. Ignesia believed that God the father and his son Jesus Christ and the holy ghost are seperate. I believe they are seperate.

Some critics of the Trinity doctrine claim that since the word "trinity" is not found in the Bible, it isn't true. Furthermore, some assert that if God wanted us to believe in the Trinity He would have stated the doctrine clearly.
First of all, it is illogical to claim that since the word "Trinity" is not found in the Bible that its concept is not taught therein. This kind of objection usually demonstrates a prejudice against the teaching of the Trinity. Instead, the person should look to God's word to see if it is taught or not.
Second, there are many biblical concepts that people believe in that don't have a specific word describing them used in the Bible. For example, the word "bible" is not found in the Bible, but we use it anyway to describe the Bible. Likewise, the words "omniscience," which means "all knowing," "omnipotence," which means "all powerful," and "omnipresence," which means "present everywhere," are words not found in the Bible either, but we use them to describe the attributes of God. We don't have to see a specific word in the Bible in order for the concept it describes to be true.

No, Bible is not mentioned in the Bible. Bible comes from the Greek word, 'Biblios', which means books. Nor is the Trinity mentioned directly, but it is taught in the Bible (the Bible teaches Jesus as God, the Father as God, and the Holy Spirit as God, and it teaches one God, so they must be a Trinity).

The Bible is called The Word of God.
The trinity is not mentioned by trinity, but the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost certainly are.

What Christians call the Old Testament, are the "scriptures" of both the people who are Jewish and those who are Christian. What Christians call the New Testament are also"scriptures" for Christians. The word "scripture" certainly is in the Bible. The Christians started calling the books containing both the Old and New Testaments, The Bible, sometime later, so it is not in the Bible.
