The "Myth" that you are not able to catch Chicken Pox virus more than once is an old wives tale.

You CAN catch this highly infectious virus more than once, although the body usually detains some cells to help the immune system to be able to fight off the infection quicker, and reduce the syptoms in the future.

Although in adulthood the same virus is sometimes called "Shingles".

The most infectious time of this individual virus is upto 7 days from the first initial outbreak, and the last 7 days, resulting in an average 21 day sickness period.

no i don't believe if one has had it they can be a carrier

if a child had chicken pox before age 3 they can get it again so only if the child was under 3 can they be carriers and get it if exposed over 3 you are immune to the virus that is why they now have a chicen pox needle for very young children to ward off the virus before the are exposed

no but if they have already had the pox and are exposed again there is a chance that they can then get the shingles its just like the pox but the bumps are paralelle to each other on the body allmost resembleing the shingle s of a house(thats where the name comes from)alot of the times the shingle are almost as bad as the pox and worse so keep an eye out for ur kid and if u notice any unusual bumps take it o the dr. good luck!!!

I was told that it is impossible to get a second chicken pox. After I had once, and later I was with friends who were having chicken pox, I was okay.

Not likely, if the child has already had it, I don't think they will get it again. Usually, once you've had the chicken pox, you usally don't get them again. Hope this has helped answer your question...
