First off, you're generalizing both the atheists and religious people and also not taking into account those who are spiritual without subscribing to a specific religion. Secondly, atheists can't prove that God doesn't exist any more than spiritual or religious people can prove it. We all can only prove how the world works, not whether or not an omnipotent and omnipresent being made it that way. That's why it's called faith, belief is something for which there is no proof. Atheists only give you reasons they believe their way, just like the religious give you reasons they believe theirs.
BTW, I'm a spiritual person, and I believe that God exists, but not because the Bible says so. The Bible is just a series of stories, some of which may have happened exactly as it says, some of which may have been exaggerated, and some of which may just be Jewish fables and mythology. It does, however, have a strong and positive message of love, compassion, and humility that all religions teach and that all people should follow. Besides, when you look closely at all the chaos that is this universe, science shows us a specific design to it all. That can't just be random.

The burden of proof is on the positive. Technically, an atheist doesn't have to prove there is no god. If I say there are no three legged dogs, the burden is on someone else to show me a three legged dog.
The existence of the divine has been proved to me, but I can't swear that I am not insane. I could be way off base. Guess that's why it's called faith. I also don't think it's my job to prove anything to anybody. People tend to believe what they want, anyway. The existence of psychic phenomena has been measured in a lab, but the existence of the divine is so much more vast than "which card am I holding?" I guess also, I'd be pretty disappointed if the how and why of gods and the universe was proved decisively. It's much more fun to wonder, and learn, and be amazed.

I've been walking around this Earth of our for 57 years and have yet not seen or heard anyone claiming they are an atheist prove that God doesn't exist.
I would not even bother asking a person that belongs to a religion to try and prove God's exist, I'd go straight to a Christian. Babe or meat eater, most know the real truth and can give straight answers that can't be beat.><>

They haven't proven that god doesn't exist. They do usually give somewhat reasonable answers, whereas religious people do not.
Religion is not based on reason, however, and therefore Christians cannot logically explain their beliefs. It just is.
As for atheists, nobody has proven that god does not exist. Science has only proven that evolution is real. Why does this have to automatically negate god's existence? Couldn't an all powerful being give his creations the ability to change and adapt to their everchanging surroundings?
In fact, my mother, who is Christian, has given me much more reasonable answers to her beliefs than my atheist grandmother could ever give. My grandmother is a very emotional, irrational woman. Whereas my mother is considerably more reasonable.
This is not enough for me to be a Christian. But I understand why she believes what she believes. I just don't buy into it. At the same time, my grandmother gives emotional responses when I ask her why she doesn't believe in god. As in:
"well, why would god let such a horrible world exist?" My answer: "Why not?" He's god isn't he? Do you think that perhaps a creature that is both infinitely more intelligent and wiser than we would not prescribe to the human designations of right and wrong? Do you think that a god would create us, only to deny us our life choices, and therefore remove the purpose of living? Do you think that it is god and not we who create our own pain?
There ya go, some arguments for god. Enjoy.

Because atheists, etc. use man's logic. You can't put God inside a tiny box and expect to explain Him. He's the God of the universe. The Bible is foolishness to people who don't believe. Of course you won't believe anything a Christian says if you don't have the ears to hear or the eyes to see. I'd like an atheist to try and prove to me that God isn't real. They would fail everytime. If you have no concept of what true faith is then you will not believe.

Atheists are unable to prove that God doesn't exist. They choose not to believe in God because God gave us all free will.
No one has been able to disprove the Holy Bible. There are many historical documents that prove the Holy Bible is true and correct. Besides, there are red letters in my Bible (New Testament) that I can trust completely. Know why? Jesus said them. Jesus was without sin and died for you and I.
Jesus loves you even why you post a silly question like this to get a rise out of people.
As for those that say the Bible was written by man (I would agree) and it was inspired by God. The Bible was written by many different men through a period of about 4,000 years. I trust the disciples that got to hang out with Jesus. There were over 500 people that were witness to the fact that he ascended into heaven on the third day. Are you calling 500+ people a liar?
Grace to you and God Bless!

the knowledge of god for the common people has been always a matter of faith. God is more a need than a certain thing for believers. Idea of god is just like the optimism..." it doesn`t need to be proven" because it's function is not to be true or not. God's Concept is, there fore an idea that it's not made to be proven, it's made to complain people's need for many things that don't come to the case. so, they Doesn't really care if god really exist or not; just like a child doesn't want to know where does santa claus get all the money to buy all the gifts.
Atheists try, by the other hand, to use their reason to get to the truth and fall in the trap of questioning the idea of GOD and finding and manipulating facts in social reality to convert them into reasons of god non existence. but those proves are not more than hypothesis and statements, not proves.
the fact that you haven't seen a black dog doesn't mean that all the dogs are White.
The fact is that GOD is a concept that is not truth or lie, it's a practical concept, it's a functional concept.
it's like oriental medicine or herbalife... "how it works?" no one really knows.. some people says it doesn't, and they say they have proves but they really don't, millions believe in it and doesn't know how it works but it works for them... in fact they don't care...because "it works".

Actually, many of the world's brightest philosophers, for instance Rene Descartes, have written detailed and very well-reasoned treatises on why God must exist. If you confine yourself to yahoo boards and expect an answer of 50 words or less, you will not be giving both sides a chance. All that would show is that one side's arguments can be reduced to a license plate frame. That is intellectually dishonest if all you are relying on is a short slogan.

Well, I'm agnostic and I haven't seen anyone prove either way that there is or isn't a god.
Atheists usually do rely more on reason, rationality and objective evidence. Theists rely a lot more on authority and subjective experiences such as their personal feelings about supernatural experiences. But there are some eloquent spokespeople for all sides just as there are plenty of examples of ignorant, angry, sloganeering bores on all sides too.

I talked to God one evening a few years ago and I asked him for a favor which he granted. Then I asked him if there was anything he needed from me and he said "no, I enjoyed our conversation, didn't you?" I had expected that he would say serve me and tell the world, blahblahblah, but he didn't, he was a regular guy, so you know, i think everybody expects too much, like you with the need for proof. The proof is in the pudding, don't cha know? Do you really think we would have the Internet, computers, cars, and a wonderfully united country if we didn't have a loving God?
