I asked a question about the Holy Spirit 30 minutes ago, and it seems that people are hostile. My question is why wasnt the holy spirit present before jesus's crucifixion. Now I'm aware of pentecost, and I also know all about Jesus's baptism, and the spirits descent as a dove. Obviously the Holy Spirit is alpha and omega as the father and son are. In John chapter 7:39, it says "By this he meant the spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified." My question is why was the Holy Spirit not sent until after the crucifixion?

If you are asking this question from the flesh, then you will not understand any answer anyone gives you. If you are asking from the spirit...you probably already know and want conformation...
Have you considered asking your Spiritual mentor (i.e. Pastor, Minister, Priest, etc.)?
You ask about the Holy Spirit before Christ? The Holy Spirit was mentioned in the Old Testament (before Jesus)...
Psalm 51:11 Do not banish me from your presence, and don't take your Holy Spirit from me.

It has everything to do with baptism. Jesus said "John baptizes with water, but I baptize with the spirit." The purpose of baptism is to tell the world that you have entered into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. The reason why the Holy Spirit did not come untill after the crusifixion is because, it was Jesus' saving work on the cross that paid the penalty that we deserve for our sins. Thus he gave us the way to salvation when he died on the Cross and rose from the dead on the third day. So it wouldn't make sense for the Holy Spirit to come until we had the opportunity to be saved.

Jesus told the disciple's that he would send the Holy Ghost as a comforter for them and the world. I believe the Holy Ghost was present during the crucifixion as it was when God created the earth, maybe not in the form it was after the crucifixion but I believe it was there. To answer your question the disciples didn't need the Holy Ghost until after the crucifixion they had Christ.

The Holy Spirit is mentioned in the Old Testament. It says in several placed that 'the SPirit of God fell on them..." or something like that. It was after Jesus accended into heaven that He sent the Spirit to be with us always.

The Holy Spirit is the comforting presence of Father when asked for in prayer or thoughts of grace.Old and New testament talk about this presence often.The Spirit was always with Jesus this was his power to heal,cast demons and rise over death.

i dunno. maybe he was asleep at the wheel. maybe he's a buzzard and doesn't come in till after the kill. maybe he got his days or dates mixed up. maybe he lost his organizer. maybe he just didn't care. there could be a thousand reasons.
