Long-term relationships are not impossible to work, but it's very challenging to keep them together. Ladies, having such relationships, should come up with a strategy plan to keep the bond together.
You can write emails to him every two weeks or something, to tell him how you're progressing in life right now. You can even gave him a surprise phone call to him once in a while. If both of you have IM or PC camera, it'll be even better because it's the closest you can get in getting personal.
Let say, if you're somehow having a vacation near his area, do drop him a surprise visit at his home. He'll be please to see you again.
For his birthdays or Christmas, send him some greeting cards or gifts to make him feel happy.
The thing about this type of relationship is that you have to work really hard to make sure that he doesn't forget about you. Remember...if your love is strong and pure, it can jump over any obstacles.

Long distance relationships do work if you want them to, it just takes a loooooooot of time! I had a long distance relationship when I was 17 and he was 20 (and we were CONTINENTS AWAY) Now Im 19 and hes 22 and we are getting married next week!
Things are NOT easy, and they are harder cause you dont get to see him as much as you would like to, but somehow you learn a lot more what love means and whats a relationship all about

it seems like love is misused in this situation, love is a way you feel about someone that will never change, so if you wont see this guy for weeks on end, will you still love him the same way, it seems like a one week fling, i am 16 and i have tried 3 different long distance relationships and none of them have worked. maybe it is because i am not old enough, maybe it was not just met to be, but at the time of all of them i told them that i loved them, and i really meant it at the time, but now months later, i no longer have the same love, which reveals to me that it wasnt really love, it was lust.

keeping in touch with someone is not diffucult in this day and age.
we have email, messenger, webcam, microphone, and degital camera and cellphone.
however having long distance relationship is still hard to keep even with those tools.
it all depends on how often you guy can meet in person and how much you guys love each other.
if you guys are really meant for each other, you can be patient and overcome all the hardships.
my advice to you is work hard and save money so you could go to his place by train or airplane.
