It seems to me that there are no gods and that life isn't given meaning by anything outside of ourselves. That means that we have a great opportunity and great responsibility- we make our own meaning, give life its own purpose. We don't really seem to be here just to worship the right being in the right way. We can find meaning in kindness to others, in pursuing knowledge, in trying to live as well as we can and do as much good as we can. With no supernatural beings to pray to to make things better, we have to take responsibility for ourselves and rely on ourselves. We can't count on someone bigger and stronger and smarter and better than us to come in and fix things magically. So it's important that we use our own lives to improve things.

Indeed if God does not exist there is no inherent meaning to life. Many evolutionists readily admit that this is the logical conclusion of evolutionary belief. But the good news is, God does exist! Which is why there is meaning and purpose in life.

I just love it when mad Christians get up tight and angry about these harmless questions.
I say believe whatever you want. If you don't believe in a god, then you have to think about what purpose life has for you. I personally don't think there is any real purpose but since we are all living on this planet together, we should try to be nice to each other.

Would the existence of God make a difference in the way you treat others? Would you treat them worse, use them, abuse them? Would you treat them better, try to make their lives better be more kindly?
Does it really matter?

our purpose in life? that's an answer that requires you to live life and find out, but because everyone has a different reality on how they perceive life, their experiences ultimately define what life is to them.
if we all cared enough, we could make this world into a better place but because of greed and corruption that will never happen. and because of that we will destroy ourselves eventually
