First of all, not everyone has the genetic potential to show off a six-pack. Don't get your hopes up.
Swimming is good, not as big a calorie burner as sprinting but swimming is easier on your joints.
Avoid foods that have a high calories-from-fat content.
I would also suggest adding crunches to your workout.
Good luck! I hope your hard work pays off.

Well, you must be 21 to purchase a six pack of beer. But you can still get a six pack of soda if you are under 21............LOL

Swimming is almost as effective as running for cardio. But, running is much harder on feet, shins, knees and hips.

For abs, swimming is much better than running. It's also low impact.

For a six pack, swim every day.

If you are working out, eat whatever you want! Of course you should eat plenty of healthy food. And if you are burning more than you put in, it won't hurt to have some junk food from time to time.

Your work out routine should consist of strength training combined with cardio. Swimming is good, but dont stick to just one activity. Too much of one type of exercise can overwork the muscles involved, so you need to vary it up. You could alternate swimming and running or any other form of activity. You need work on your whole body in order to develop balanced muscles that will enhance your six pack. You should also have a low sugar, low sodium, and low fat type of nutrition.

Swimming is excellent cardio excercise. It works the whole body and is low impact (running is neither). I would suggest Tae-bo cardio as well for faster results. Remember to swim for at least 20 minutes (it takes that long for your body to start really burning calories).

Stay away from greasy foods. The grease is pretty close to the fat in your body, so guess where your body immediatley puts it? Only eat when you're hungry, and stop when you're full.

What Is Pilates?
Pilates is a body conditioning routine that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. In addition, pilates increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and strengthen the body's "core" or "powerhouse" (torso). People who do pilates regularly feel they have better posture, are less prone to injury, and experience better overall health.

There's a lot more to eating for sports than chowing down on carbs or chugging sports drinks. The good news is that eating to reach your peak performance level likely doesn't require a special diet or supplements. It's all about working the right foods into your fitness plan in the right amounts. Here are some basics.

Eat Extra for Excellence
Teen athletes have unique nutrition needs. Because athletes work out more than their less-active peers, they generally need extra calories to fuel both their sports performance and their growth. Depending on how active they are, teen athletes may need anywhere from 2,000 to 5,000 total calories per day to meet their energy needs

Walk to a co-worker's desk to chat instead of instant messaging.

In the mood for a hot meal? Make a large pot of veggie bean soups, divide into two-cup containers, and store inside the freezer. Before bed, place a container from the fridge, then grab it before heading out the door every day.

You should not be eating so much as to make you overweight or raise your cholesterol. A balanced diet is the only way to go. there are plenty of such diets on the web.
