Is there a way I can shut this dang bird up?
With out hurting , killing, or giving him away?
Please help me! I may never sleep again!
Ps..he is so dang stubborn!
If i tap him on his beak he gets mad and attacks me!
Even when i try to take him out of his cage! hE attackes me! i Have a scar on my thumb now..
Is there a way i can make hhim stop biting?

You have to ignore him when he is bad and praise him when he is quiet.
Unfortunately, he already distrusts you because you hit him. You have to stop that. Start over trying to tame him. He only gets treats from your hand when he is quiet, and takes it nice. Without trying to hurt you.
Cover his cage at night. Darkness causes birds to go to sleep. Sleeping birds are quiet birds. Uncover him during the day and give him lots of toys to play with. Get a mirror. They love those.
Consider getting a book. You would get so much more info on your little friend.
Cover the floor (or where ever the cage is) with a shower curtain. You can attach one to the wall too if he is near one and pooping on it. Shower curtains are easy to clean, just hose it off outside and let it dry. They are also cheap enough to toss if you don't want to clean it.
If you are angry or don't like the bird anymore, give him away. There is no shame in that. It is better for both of you.
Good Luck.

What you can do is train him. Just like you can train a parrot to talk im sure it's possible to train him to be quiet. Whenever he screams say the word 'quiet'. If he shuts up reward him with a seed or a treat but if he doesn't don't give him a reward. Everytime he is quiet reward him and talk to him in a soft voice so he realizes he's doing something good. Try it for a few days it should work. Training is actually quite easy. I haven't had the same problem but I taught my conure to lift up her food and wave whenever I wave at her, she learned it in just two days. She's a bit cheeky though because whenever I go near her she lifts up her foot because she wants a seed, she's really cute. Anyhow good luck and give it a go. If you want more information about training parrots email me at: valentina2846@yahoo.com and I'll find you more information. Good luck!!

By the way, don't ever shout at your bird, or him it or make sudden movements. This is probably the reason why he attacks you, just be patient and try and work it out without aggression. You can also train a parrot to not bite and be tame and step up etc... Contact me if your interested.

I have a cockatiel, a love bird and the noisiest parrot in the world. When birds hear loud noises they think you are playing with them and respond back with noise themselves. There is no good solution to trying to quiet a noisy bird. I had to give away one of my parrots because she was too loud all the time. I would suggest that unless you are extremely attached to it, find it a good home. Some people are born bird lovers and wont mind the noise at all. Spraying it with water, or tapping its beak or covering it up will not help. Trust me Ive tried.

It sounds like you don't really like having this bird for a pet anymore. And he doesn't sound very happy, either. Perhaps you should consider giving him away to someone who would appreciate him more. It doesn't mean you don't love him - it just means that you want him to be happy.

Don't tap his beak - he obviously doesn't like it. Try giving him a toy to play with - he may be a bored bird. Yes, a blanket over his cage will make him sleep, but you can't leave it there all the time - it's not fair to him.

Basically, no, you can't make him shut up. He's a bird and birds are noisy. Sorry!

You sound too immature to be responsible for a pet. Anybody who calls their bird "damn" is showing anger and inability to care for a pet. Birds must be cared for and yes, they do poop, because all creatures poop. When you get a creature, you need to expect that. Give it to someone who will love it and has learned about the pet before getting it. Animals don't deserve inhumane treatment by an angry owner.

I have an amazon parrot who was severly abused before I got him, he is very noisey when I come home, I have found, he just wants my love and attention or perhaps your bird needs food/water..check it out. As for biting when you reach in his cage..thats his territory, he is guarding it..dont place your hand in cage giving him oppurtunity to bite..bite, you go away, he gets his way..a trained response is then made unwittingly.

Mine is quiet if I turn out the light or put a blanket or towel around the cage. She goes to sleep. Worth a shot!

I must ask...why do you have a bird like that? What sort of bird is it? Sounds like a parrot.

Birds poop, make messes with their food, and make noise. Wouldn't you be unpleasant if kept in a small cage?
