Man was created vegetarian originally because there was no death before the Fall. Only after the Flood when they have left the Ark did God permit man to eat meat (Gen 9:1-3). So on the Ark Noah and his family did not have meat for food. I believe the same goes for the animals though nothing is mentioned about them.

God did not permit the eating of flesh until after the flood, seven of the clean animals were on the ark for sacrificial purposes. Noah and his family loaded plenty of food for all.

That is a question that could have no concrete answer. It's possible that Noah brought extra animals to be eaten. It's possible that they just brought the typical dried fare of a boat. It's also possible that God provided food for them the whole time.
However, I like to believe that Noah, his family, and all the animals survived solely on cheese doodles.

Some of the animals might have been for food use, because if I recall correctly, in the Genesis account Noah was instructed to bring more than two of certain kinds, the "clean" ones that were used domestically. Check it out for yourself. What do you think?

remember that Noah took 7 of each animal that was clean and two of every animal that was unclean. He had to use something for food. I think he ate the unicorn.lol well if you look at the story very closely it talks about 7 of some animals.

it wasn't until after the flood that God allowed them to eat meat. in fact animals didn't even eat meat. in genesis 1:29-30 it says
29Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so.
