Don't they realize we CAN and probably WILL retaliate by doing something to said food?

Fordkiller: pshh...I don't know what your're talking about...I get great tips. Not from the cheapos though :(

I'm talking about people who look and treat you like an idiot when you're trying to be helpful.

Silent*Scream: I am an incredibly, incredibly patient person. I am friendly to customers from the get go and give great service. The customers I am talking about are the ones who are rude from the start and continue to be even if I give good service.

Baby_Poots: Sometimes I enjoy waitressing and sometimes I don't. I didn't really pick this profession as much as I was forced into it. What I mean to say is that I've been waitressing at my parent's restaurant for the past 4 summers. I usually work from 11am - 12am (13 hours) and I work solely on tips (my decision).

Why do waiters and waitresses (not all, SOME) provide crappy service and get snotty when they're not given a tip?

Even admitting you'd do that to someones food is criminal. If you want a job where you're given pats on the back and your *** kissed at every turn, become a politician.

Don't you think that maybe your customers aren't having the best day in the world and maybe...just maybe...you take things a little too personally? You know, the world doesn't revolve around you.

In "Steven's" World: Let's see - Treat a wait staff crappy, they spit in your food. Yeah, that's the same thing.

I have been in the service industry for 13 years since I was 14 years old. I have waited, managed, and bar tended. I have never, nor have I ever known any one who has "messed" with someones food. It's one thing to joke around about it in the kitchen, but to actually do it is just juvenile. Also, I am one of those @sswholes who is rude to waiters and waitresses. If I am receiving crap service you will definitely hear about it. I have no patients or tolerance for incompetents. If you cannot take an order and deliver food get a new damn job. I love my job and do it well. No one ever complains or is rude to me.

in case you have been impolite and insulting and that i exchange into the waitress i could have my supervisor ask you to go away. We in many cases do no longer could try this, yet there have been some mean people who've been banned from employer and the managers listed under are large at resolving any subject concerns a shopper could have, whether they're merely immature and impolite. i'm continually well mannered to any waitress and tip rather properly as i be attentive to how complicated the activity is and how annoying human beings could properly be

you can tell alot about a person by the way they act toward someone they "don't" have to be nice to. anyone who acts rude to the waitstaff is simply an @$$hole.
I am only refering of course to the people who are rude BEFORE they receive lousy service, otherwise telling the waiter or waitress what you think about the quality of their work is reasonable.

Good question. I used to work in customer relations and I could never undestand how someone could be rude to me when I was looking at their credit file etc. on the computer screen in front of me. It's like I know everything about you, but you know nothing about me and your the one who's threatening me? LOL

Yes, you can retaliate against your patrons, but you chose (or maybe not) to be in food service. I am a public school teacher who chose my profession, and I have had to deal with students who do not ,or did not ,appreciate my dedication. Would you appreciate me retaliating against your sister, brother, or child?
