My husband had that happen to him. Twice. He dated them in High School, then a few years later, they were gay. Even 3 to 6 years later, it was a complete blow to his "manhood". It really blew his self confidence for a while. He was still dealing with it when he and I got together. I will tell you the same thing I told him. It's them. Not you. Some people are struggling with their feelings, sometimes fighting them, and some don't know until they are attracted to a certain someone of the same sex. Don't let it get to you. It has nothing to do with how good you were to that person, or with them. It's their mind/body/soul...whatever. Just remember that you are a wonderful person too, and you have a lot to offer someone! they didn't "go" gay. they always were gay.
and no i never had that happen to me, but i used to date a guy and i did come out of the closet to him that i was bi and he dumped me. at the tie it hurt but now i know i am better off without him.
