I'm sorry, I was/am referring to "Christian" believers.

If you've seen any of my answers, you'll know that I'm an atheist. I'll give you my insight though, and I'll apologize ahead of time if its a little cold...not rude, but logical.

Admit that the bible is full of inconsistencies. I've posted many times, using the bible itself to illustrate these inconsistencies. Saying that the "old testament isn't valid" is not valid. Christians still follow, and base their moral code off of the 10 commandments. Picking and choosing which parts to follow is kind of like a little kid putting there fingers in their ears and screaming LALALA.

Be consistent in your actions and beliefs. I don't mean from person to person here. I run a liquor store, and have christians condemning the fact that I sell rum, while buying wine for communion.

Apply common sense and logic to your arguements. Admit that if its plausible that mankind was made from dust, its entirely possible that it also evolved from a "lower life form".

Stop trying to push your beliefs into every corner of our daily lives. "One nation under god" has no place in public schools, nor does prayer. Religion itself should not be taught, unless its from a sociological/cultural standpoint. The word god is offensive to so many different people for so many reasons. I'm part native american. Telling me that ours is a nation built on Godly/christian values isn't doing you any good. With all the lies and suffering the Native Americans suffered, it just makes it look all the more evil.

Realize that using xmas or happy holidays isn't a slight against your faith. The first can still be read as "christmas", and the second is gracious to ALL faiths. Christmas as it is today isn't even your holiday! It's a corruption of a pagan feast called the yule...the tree, the gifts, the feast...all stolen and renamed.

The bible teaches a very noble lesson at its core...a message of love. Stop condemning anyone who wants to live this life, instead of dedicating themselves to an afterlife that is promised, without any proof.

This is the one that really chaps my sphincter. When I question something in the bible, instead of using the bible or someone else's writing (whose sources will eventually come back to using the bible), give me some kind of concrete evidence. No hypothetical answers, no circular logic, and no cop-out "its god's will", "it's god's/jesus' plan", or "because the holy spirit allowed it/helped me" answers. My question is based on logic, and lack of facts.

"What are some things believers do to impart harm and embarrassment to their own kind and causes? "

Um, gossip about one another and wash their dirty linen in public?

1 Corinthians 6:5 I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between the brothers, 6 but brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?

Hi!

We can all be called "BELIEVERS" but a good question is "Which god does one believe in?"

Some people serve Satan knowingly.

Some serve Satan under a banner of an innocent looking cult.

Some serve Satan without knowing it under the banner of false religions.

Some serve Satan without knowing under the banner of "Evolution"

Some serve religion, and religion is not God!

Some serve churches, and serving a church is not necessarily serving God.

And then some serve Jesus Christ and are filled with Holy Spirit.

You don't have to believe what I am telling you but time will tell.

I will not be afraid to tell the TRUTH on Y!Answers....

Now if you talk of born-again Christian believers, then we can start talking.

Bye!

Lead by example and stop excusing the bad behavior of other Christians under the blanket generalization "those aren't true Christians" as if that makes it acceptable or tolerable.

The worst offense, I believe, is justifying something horrible by saying it's done in Jesus' name or to his will, etc. I guess I can't understand how some have the arrogance to presume to know what their lord wants done.

Over zealousness is the chief one. hypocrisy is the other.
