It's called supply and demand! Apparently "orange" soda didn't win any popularity contests when it came to the 5 or 6 flavors that a drink fountain can offer.
Thus Coke, Sprite, Diet coke, Tea and probally Fruit Punch sell better. Unless it a Pepsi owned restaurant........same deal.

Funny thing about this question is I am drinking orange soda right now. I suppose they just noticed that fewer people were ordering it. It seems also that the orange is always still full when the vending machines are mostly empty. I have noticed that a lot of places have replaced it with powerade or raspberry tea, so that there is still a fruity option. I also think the fact that everybody MUST have their CAFFEINE!!!! might have something to do with it.

Resturants just do whats the most cost effective and cheapest available. I go to some resturants here and Orange & Strawberry Fanta are both available, however a place like McD's just has that hi-c orange which I like but isn't soda.

Hmmm...I've never really thought about this deeply before. I guess I don't have as much of an addiction to orange soda as you, although I do enjoy ordering it when I see it on the menu at places. To answer your question, I don't know why. Maybe because this is more of a cola nation.
Wanna Fanta? ;)

Most restaurants serve or sell the top sellers.
I'm surprised to see orange soda is not being
served in all restaurants.

It's not a popular flavor for the american consumer, so they won't carry it.
But I see plenty of Orange Fanta on tap at Taco stands around here.
