NO!!!
Besides, you only get health insurance for the child for 1-5 years, depending on the state, a few of them longer .. and you only get health insurance on yourself .. which I assume would be the point, for six months after baby is born.

NO that is just selfish and ignorant you only should have a child for the right reasons not for your own good. Children are very special and the world is crazy enough its not the childs fault to be brought into a cruel and crazy world. There is help for that not putting a child in jepordy for your own good, and if you dont have health insurance how in the world would you even begin to provide the extra things that come from a child it cost money ALOT so worry about one thing at a time get it through another way and GOOD LUCK

How the hell do you "engage" in pregnancy? Pregnancy isn't a cold. It doesn't go away! You get a child! I'm pro-choice, but if you're "engaging" in pregancy just for the insurance and then aborting the pregnancy, that's extremely immoral.
I hope Canada doesn't privatize - questions like this make me sad.
Good luck with your health though.

no pregnancy is about having a baby not getting free health insurance
thats kind of selfish to have a baby only to recieve health insurance
the baby needs a family the baby's life is more important than recieving free health insurance.
or you could want a baby and provide it with a loving and then get health insurance as a bonus

No! Only reason to get pregnant is if you really want a child.
You may qualify for some assistance if pregnant but it is in no means a good health insurance plan.

Doing that is like selling the car to buy gasoline, you'd only make your situation worse.
Plus there is no real socialized healthcare in america, and being pregnant is a condition that will get most private insurances to reject you when you apply.

I think a better option is to get a job in which the company pays for your insurance. Most companies do....or at least part of it.

NO!!! Thats what FREE CLINICS are for. You can also visit Planned Parenthood facilities and they can direct you where to go and how to even qualify for some assistance to pay the medical bills you have already incurred.

get a job
get an education first - so that it pays more.
Don't have kids until you can afford them
I'll probably have to pay for it, if you don't follow the steps above.
Try not to be a drain on the system.
