Obviously we could not go on a completely isolationist path...But what if???? Withdraw all over our troops from the 186 countries that we ocupy,no more humanitarian aid (100's billions yr), no more sharing our invaluable technology, and most importantly, leaving the world without free trade. (for those of you who don't know, free trade could not be obtained without the presence of the U.S Navy and American power in general). JUST IMAGINE... The fallout of such events would lead to the destruction, famine and pestulents of the entire world. Without the USAF around the globe..Germany, Japan, France, Britain, all of Africa and Asia, and the former USSR would all be in a state od DIRE STRAIGHTS.. I guess the point of this is....don't forget who your daddy is...

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR THE FOLLOWING
SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans:

As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been
completed.

Since congress does not want
to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is
now
complete.

This morning I gave the order
for a complete removal of all American
forces
from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is
now to
begin
the reckoning.

Before me, I have two
lists. One list contains the names of countries
which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This
list is
short.
The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria,
Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed
there.

The other list contains everyone
not on the first list. Most of the world's
nations are on that list. My press secretary will be
distributing
copies
of
both lists later this evening.

Let me
start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to
those
nations
on
List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved
during
the
first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the
Iraqi
war

The American people are no longer
going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those
government
leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call
France.

In the future, together with
Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the
vexing
social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to
terrorist
organizations. Mess with us and we will hunt you down and
eliminate
you
and
all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or
maybe China.

To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yo, boys, work out a
peace
deal
now. Just note that Camp David is closed. Maybe all of you can
go
to
Russia for negotiations. They have some great palaces there.
Big
tables,
too. I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic
relations
with
France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help,
comrades.
We
are
retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing
the
many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more
than
two
unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be
stripped,
shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty
pertains to
this.
You fatcats have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those
tickets
tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers,
and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in
the
world.
I
love New York .

A special note to our
neighbors Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing
a
lot
more
of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off
for a
change.

Mexico is also on List 2.
President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an
attitude
adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry
divisions
sitting
around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security.
So
start
doing something with your oil.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA
treaty - starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own
citizens.
Some will accuse
us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, darn tootin.

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life
around
the
world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about
everyone
on
the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is
time
to
eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate
World Cup
Soccer
from America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks
guys.
We
owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought, Good luck, I hope
you
make
it!

God bless America.

Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in
English, thank a soldier.

Think not of the USA leaving the world to it's self, but of the world telling the USA to get lost. How "Cool" would that be! The self obsessed frightened nation being sent to the corner to sulk all by it's self. All of the previous world empires have come and gone, the greatest (Roman Greek, Babloniyan & British) leaving behind things like technology, (which if I'm not mistaken the USA nicked there technology from the Greman scientist who defected at the end of WW2) and a thing called democracy, which you can't impose on people as that's undemocratic.... ie stop invading countries and screwing them over. In the words of John Lennon..." I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one...." My dream is the The Good "Ole" U S of "A" will eventually grow up and stop being scared of everyone, that way maybe they'll leave us all alone to live in peace.

the world might be on a path to peace if the USA stopped preventing peace to occur ,so if the USA retreated from world affairs , it would be one of the best things that could happen for democracy, peace and common sense. Israel would not get away with their crimes anymore. the relations between states would not be that tense anymore if the cowboys backed off and sorted out their own country before trying to completely mess up the world. Basically , it is the USA that is the cause of most of the hostility today as they're still riding that wild west train and they let their homies Israel do what they reproach the enemies of the free world... so take the USA out of any part in global affairs and the world might be able to sort it out within fifty years. let the yanks rule all then get ready to tell your grand children about ww3...

America is not helping with its arrogant ignorant stupid attitude , on the contrary . it is like trying to extinguish a fire with gasoline...
America and Israel do what they want and get away with it , now where is the justice in that?

this ignorant statement: without the USA you lot would all be living in complete anarchy and chaos is bollocks, did you lot teach us democracy freedom and all that? how so if you don't have freedom democracy and culture yourselves? besides where where was the USA three hundred fifty years ago? there where it should have stayed : in the dreams of a few inbred cow breeders who thought I'd be a great idea to be independent and kill anything that is not like them and steal their land.

and the sake of the world in the hand of thieves???? no wonder there has not been one year without war since America claimed to be a legitimate country...

You have a point there.... It's kinda good to have someone in charge to take care of all the sh!t that goes on in world
....BUT Ruler of the world should be a country which:
a. Is not trying to accomodate specific interests
b. Has an intelligent leader
c. Does not base its policy on war

At the moment, the whole world is controlled by state which cares only oil and is trying to gain control of as many oil sources as possible (i.e. control the Middle East).
It is doing so by bombing countries, including many innocent civilians (see Iraq), or by supporting its allies to act likewise (see Israel attacks on Lebanon).
Furthermore, the leader of current world ruler is unfortunately a person who is being voted just by few US citizens. Why should the rest of the world put up with that person's personal ambitions?

I am beginning to miss the Cold War. At least we had some balance at the time.

"blissful peace..."

"over the long term, an isolationist policy... more peace and less war..."

"the world will live in peace..."

*sigh*

I never cease to be amazed at the capacity for self-delusion that our species is capable of... To paraphrase another poster:

"The world was full of people slaughtering each other ten thousand years before the US was invented, and will still be full of people slaughtering each other in ten thousand years time when the US will be a tiny footnote in history."

If I could wave my magic wand, I would make all of you a bet:

If, after 20 to 30 years of intense American isolationism the world was well & truly a better place, I would agree to spend the next 10 years walking onto a stage every day at high noon (GMT, of course...) and, on live TV, sing "I'm a little piggy, here's my snout... oink oink oink, oink oink oink."

(Think Cartman in the Scott Tennerman episode of South Park.)

However, if the world situation got worse (or even just stayed pretty much the same), ALL of you would have to do the same, for 10 long years... but in little pink piggy outfits.

That mental image will keep me smiling for days... :)

I think your a bit inflated in your opinion of the U.S. First of all withdrawing American 'so called' diplomacy from the world would provide alot more peaceful world, your president has said he is a 'war' president. Secondly all your humanitarian aid bullshit is ****. Considering that it is America who usually causes these humanitarian crises in one way or another, America does not contribute its fair share and is on a par with what Europe contributes, yet Europe does not look for a thanks, and also 'my daddy' what a stupid thing to say, I do not want a 'daddy' that terrorises innocent civilians and believes itself to be both morally and polictically superior to every nation on earth, I am a European and therefore do not really recognise America as anything other than a cruel joke God has played on the Human race to remind us that no matter how stupid, arrogant and full of **** Europeans think they are theres always somebody worse of than yourself

the saddest thing of all is that the US pays so little heed to the suffering within its own boundaries. The people who are trying to raise their children, the next generation of americans, who for what ever reason find themselves in dire straits. People who are sick or injured and cannot access the full health care that only the elite can afford. The lack of money for quality education for all no matter their financial position, the lack of quality social housing, the endemic racism that i find sickening and the right wing principles in general that pour disproportionate amounts of money into prisons and war. God Help America.

Right now US Military is pulling out of Germany... Local German economies TANKED. US Military is slowly pulling out of S. Korea... Their local economies are TANKING. Not only that but please dont forget the Korean War that started over half a century ago still hasnt ended. If North Korea invaded the south without 2 infantry division holding it down up at Camp Casey/Hovey/CRC S Korea would be PUMMMMMMMELED. If the US pulled out of Iraq Iran would invade and then we would have double the trouble to deal with.

wow! You people need to get your politics straight. If we got out of everywhere, very bluntly, all hell would break lose. All the African disputes would escalate and we would have terror regimes everywhere. Also, the global economy would crumble, all of the wealth would go to powerful regimes and corrupt leaders. Without the US the world would be in a complete disaray, the world needs us so they can ***** all the want, but they depend on our aid.

Hittite Empire
Egyptian Empire
Persian Empire
Roman Empire
Turkish Empire
Spanish Empire
Dutch Empire
British Empire
Japanese Empire
Soviet Empire
Plus many more.....

While not all Empires in the strict sense all the above have one thing in common. "They thought they were invicible and the world could not survive without them, yet they eventually crumbled".

I suggest you look at histroy and start to prepare to come to terms with the fact that; nothing lasts forever...........

There may be chaos in the short term, until things settle down. However, over the long term, an isolationist policy would result in more peace and less war.
