My tiny kitten went into labour last night, when we found her she had already had two kittens, one was dead, & the other was alive but passed on this afternoon, her labour has stopped, BUT she definitely has two or three more in there, & they are not moving around, when i talked to the vet today he said it is going to cost me $ 165 to have her looked at, then its going to cost me around $ 1000 to have her operated on. As a mother of 2 i do not have this kind of cash, but she is family and i cannot just let her go,IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW AND IF I CAN INDUCE LABOUR please let me know ASAP so i can save our kitty ! the vet said theres no hope for the kittens if theres no movement, but if i can induce somehow at least theres a chance to save her from infection. I am BEYOND devastated about her kittens but cannot bear to stand the thought of voluntarily putting her down due to money shortage ! She is just over a year ! Please help my cat stay a part of our family !

This is a dire situation. She will have to be seen by a vet. Call local rescue groups to see if they can recommend a vet that has reasonable fees or will except payments. There is nothing that can be done at home for this situation.
When you call the vet ask them to do an emergency spay surgery on your cat. This will accomplish both removing the dead kittens and preventing this from ever happening again.
Good luck.

The only suggestion that I can give for you to help her along with her labor is to keep her somewhere dark and quiet. Do not check in on her very often. Stress can often prolong labor.

If she has not produced any more kittens within a period of about 12 hours after her last one, you need to get her to a vet. Ask about Care Credit, or payment plans, or find another vet right away that is willing to help. Perhaps there is someone that you can borrow the money from?

If the kittens still inside her are dead, they pose a serious health threat to the mother. Is it possible that she only had 3 kittens to begin with? Are you definately feeling more kittens?

if her labor has stopped and she doesn't seem to be in distress, then just leave her be. chances are she went into labor early and had the other kittens too soon. if you can tell that the other kits are alive and the another doesn't show signs of bleeding heavily or fever let her be. just keep her warm and comfortable.nature has a way of taking care of these kinds of things. if any of the above symptoms manifest or she wont at least take water or eat in the next twenty four hrs, then I'm afraid you ll have to get the money somehow to take her to the vet. the sf ASPCA has a program called the "Cinderella fund" for cases such as yours but i believe you have to live there. call to find out.i work as a tech there but am unsure of the requirements to be accepted into the program. good luck i hope it works out for you and your pet

There are companies that provide credit like a credit card thing for pet related emergencies. They pay the vet and you pay them. But do call around for another vet, Some will work out payment plans as long a you have some $ to put down. It is a complicated and risky surgery but I've seen many pull through. Good luck

There is nothing you can do yourself. There is probably a kitten stuck and the others cannot come thru the birth canal. She is going to die unless you can get her to a vet. Yoou will more than likely lose the kittens. Call the local ASPCA. Maybe they will take the cat and do a c-section on her. You will probably have to sign the cat and any living kittens over to them. You can call around and see if any of the local vets will do it for less, and explain your situtaion and maybe they can take payments, but the ASPCA is probably the best bet to save the vat.

You need to go to a vet. If your vet is so expensive, go to a charity vet, such as the PDSA, or the RSPCA in the UK.
If your cat is only a year old, you should never have let her become pregnant in the first place. She's barely out of kittenhood herself, and the old wives' tale about letting a queen have a litter before spaying is just that - an old wives' tale. She should have been neutered before she was old enough to have kittens. There are enough unwanted kittens in the world without cat owners behaving irresponsibly. I'm sorry for the soap-box rant, but if you take on the responsibilty of having a pet, you have all the costs that go with that - emotional, as well as financial.
In future, consider taking out pet insurance to cover such traumatic situations as you describe above.

For Gods sake get her to a vet, NOW. What has taken you so long to get help for this poor little thing??? She will probably be dead by the time you get this mail, for goodness sake do something; dont just sit on your but and watch her die!!!!!!!!!!! Dont ever even THINK about inducing labour, you will kill her if you do. There must be an animal shelter near you; look in Yellow Pages, or ring the ASPCA, they will know of a free vet service, or where you can pay a bit at a time. Dont wait....CALL NOW. Very good luck to you and your kit.

Call another vet.that one is so a rip off.
It does not cost that much to have cats looked at.
Keep her somewhere dark and quiet, because stress can prolong labor.
There is probably a big kitten stuck in her birth canal and she needs to be looked at by a vet immediately.
I hope you dont lose her,i know what it feels like :'(
All the best.

Call your local shelter, and ask them for recommendations for a vet who isn't trying to rip you off. There's nothing you can do at home, and she's going to die if you don't take her to the vet.

what's wrong with you the mother needs help imediately phone up direct enquiries and ask for the local cats protection league and don't hesitate as the remaining kittens are probably already dead inside her and this can cause complications for the mother. Explain the situation and they will assist you.
