I would think skipping meals does the trick, diet books say you shouldn't skip meals because it slows your metabolism. The body thinks it's starving so instead of using the calories for energy it stores more...
There are also some bulking protein shakes. And you should go to the gym and stuff, and lift weights. Becasue I assume you'd like to bulk up and be healthy, not be a fat slob

Metabolism - balance your intake of the five food groups, fruits, dairy, meat, carbohydrates, and grains/beans/legumes. You'll probably need to eat mostly fruits at first then slowly kick in the other types of foods, cut down on fats as much as possible, nothing fried, and loads of fresh foods.
