Maybe he likes you as a friend. If that’s the case, and you feel he can be a good friend, go ahead. Some friendships can be really rewarding.
If on the other hand you feel he was just teasing you, seriously, why would you want to waste time with a jerk like that? Maybe when he grows up and matures a bit, he might make good company for someone. But I’d still tell you to just hop away and forget the deal

People can like someone without wanting to date them. Everyone has different perspectives of the word "like" and many other things. Put he's probably just trying to say that he wants to get in your pants without the relationship.

Strange. well, I guess you have no choice but to leave him
alone because you can't force someone to date you. He might
already have a girlfriend or he is gay, who knows
If you wish, you can try asking him why he is not into dating or you can just let him go and find someone that is really into you.
If i was in your shoes I would let him go.

I guess you could ask for clarrification. Whats the point of him saying that he likes you if he doen't want anything from it - i.e. find out what he is after.

mayby he's a jacka$$ and just want to fool around with no commitments
