Costa Rica. It will take a day or less to get there and one to return. That gives you 2 full days to have some fun in a small but very diverse country. Within easy driving range from the capital, which is really butt ugly, you can visit live volcanos, go rafting, tan on a beautiful beach, see monkeys and tropical birds and immense butterflies, go deep sea fishing..... and the list goes on and on. The prices for accommodations are reasonable, the food is boring, you can drink the water, the people are friendly, the scenery is incredible, and it is easy to get around.
Need another idea? How about the Dominican Republic? The northern part of the island has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Seriously. The place is set up more in the line of large all inclusive resorts although you can find some boutique places easily. The food is delicious. So is the beer and rum. The infrastructure is good and it is easy to rent a car and drive around. You would fly into Puerto Plata which has direct flights from Miami, New York, Atlanta, and a few other places. Highly recommended.

Branson,Missouri is a great place of a couple or for a fmily to enjoy at reaonable prices. Great lodgings great choices in entertainment plus the scnery is wonderful, great hospitality it's a a++ as a get away

Branson, Missouri, it is a very entertaining place, it has beautiful scenery, has lakes, very nice people, you will love it, great resturants, great hotels & motels, it's just a nice place to be.
