I am an Ex JW with 15 years in the cult now deprogrammed
The doctrine is a twisted fabric of half truths and and total misconceptions.
They preach openly hatred toward other religions.
Turn a blind eye to spousal abuse toward women.
turn a blind eye to child abuse teaching openly spare the rod spoil the child.
They teach hatred toward those who do not believe what they do and that god will rain horror to the other 6.2 billion people on earth and that is is gods will they all should die. they teach only a select group of them 144,000 the anointed ones will be welcome into heaven and these people are chosen in Brooklyn
the rest of them will be left on earth to clean up the mess of 6+ billion lost lives and all the dead no matter how evil in life will be brought back given a second chance and judged over 1000 years. (yes even Hitler, Stalin, Genghis Khan, Mao tsa Tung, Pol Pot you name it) Those left over in paradise will live forever.
Christ was never nailed to a cross (even though this is historical FACT) in the new paradise even the animals will be harmless vegans.
Grapes will grow as big as basket balls, and only the righteous (them) will be left over.
But to learn the real truth about what they are really like look at the web sites run by ex JW's

They take the Bible literally. Completely literally. Especially the last and most loosely written book in the bible.
And Carlos, I'm Catholic and it's nothing like Jehovahs Witnesses. I, and most other Catholics who have their head on straight, don't take the first and last book of the bible literally (I originally said seriously but realized that wasn't what I meant). That is because Genesis has been disproved by evolution (In terms of everything being created within 6 days and other aspects that go against evolution) and the Pope himself has admitted it. John Paul as well as Benedict both proclaimed that you shouldn't take the first and last book of the Bible literally. You aren't supposed to take the last book literally because it is regarded as figurative and loosely written as a way to sum up the Bible. Some extreme Catholics still think that the first and last book are truth, I just don't know of any off hand. I've just heard stories.
JW's think catholics are pagans, so I wouldn't say what you said ever to a JW or they just might.....do whatever it is that they do.

I studied with them for about 3yrs and not one anymore.
However, they do study bible. Instead of going to church...they call it a 'congregation' where people meet and someone similar to a pastor discusses the bible(i beleive it is a pastor, my teachings were mostly based at home...yea they would come every sunday) as would be done in a regular Christian or Catholic church.
Other than that I see no difference between them and Christians or Catholics. Oh the one big difference may be that it is something requirement for you to teach and preach the bible to others which is why they visit your home all the time. This devotion is similar to Muslims and praying five times a day... its' a pillar to muslims to do this and in a similar fashion it is with Jehovah's witnesses. This is done because it's says in the bible that we should spread his word... thus why they come to your house every Sunday.
Yea, they believe in God (named Jehovah), Jesus Christ and the holy spirit.
(shortstuff) Shouldn't you take all the books of the Bible seriously ? ...if you're religious?

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

They believe that they just have to show up at your door and you are willing to drop whatever you are doing to start a pointless conversation about God - for hours.
Their doctrine tells them to ignore whatever you say and to repeat on and on and on the same crap - until you get dizzy and too weak to slam the door and unable to continue with your own life or even remember your name, age or sex.
