This was a figurative way of saying that God was pleased with the sacrifice.

I don't know where you go that from. I think you're missing the point. He did not enjoy the smoke or smell. He was pleased with the offering of sacrifice. The sacrifice represented obedience, repentance, and worship. That is what He enjoyed. But now we no longer have to sacrifice animals because Jesus Christ was the spotless lamb that took away the sins of the world. He made the one and only sacrifice once and for all for our sins.
The sacrifice of the animals was to show the people that sin lead to death, and that blood had to be spilled. But Jesus' precious blood paid for our sins and the price for our sins. He died so that we didn't have to die. And we have eternal life in Him for whoever would receive His forgiveness of sins.

You dont get it....it wasnt the aroma, it was the sacrifice that was made. In that day, the animals were a big possession & to offer it up was a big sacrifice. If only we made sacrifices today of important things to us, the world would be a better place.

Hey, *I* like the smell of cooked animal flesh, and I'm not an omnipotent pan-dimensional being. God loves a cookout; it's that simple.

He always loved a good barbecue. He even told Abraham to make him a human barbecue, then changed his mind at the last minute and ordered mutton from the menu.

I agree with kak, we enjoy the smell, so god enjoys the smell. Just like when the christians wanted to kill people in the crusades, god wanted them to kill those people.

He didn't it was the obedient, and the sacrifice of the healthiest animal. To give to him for being grateful, and for the good things in life, plus just life.
