If you are in Maryland, you will need a vehicle that can pass MD inspection. It is going to be very hard to find one that will pass, in the price range you have set.
On older vehicles, I expect to pay $500-$1000 in repairs to get a car to pass.

That's a rough one, as you by no means realize who's promoting. In truth, a salesperson on the dealership would low-ball an older individual, get their automobile, then promote it at residence, making themselves look folksy. Since none of those are traditionally warrantied, I strongly endorse you store till you'll get a low-cost, new automobile beneath assurance. I realize you're going to remorse shopping a used automobile, both for the smoke scent, or what the individual did not get performed. If the economic system were not unhealthy, I could promote mine with 40000 miles on it, however I cannot manage to pay for to, however I have a six 12 months assurance, and an additional 12 months. I cannot even say, get one at a dealership or automobile max. I handiest realize that I maintain up my automobiles, however now not everybody does, after which, it's not anything however challenge. Even a household member will promote a clunker.
