I have a Canon Powershot A510, when im taking movie it stops recording when I dont want it to...?

The batteries are all new and Im using a 1 gig memory so i have plenty of memory. I was taking video of a 5 min talk and it stopped half of the way. Why does it stop recording when I dont want it to? Is there something i can do to prevent this from happening?

The A510 has the following limitations: movie mode w/sound, 640x480 for up to 30secs, 320x240 and 160x120 up to 3 minutes.
