pockets and recession in the gums? The second part is what kind of pain is created when the gum pockets are deep? Please describe the particular symptoms of that kind of pain.

1. Certain types of malocclusion (open bite) cause mouth breathing because the lips do not close correctly. This increases the risk of illnesses of the respiratory tract and often results in caries and periodontitis (pockets between the teeth).

2. Symptoms : Bad breath. Swollen gums. Gums that bleed easily. Teeth may be loose and gums may be receded.

Note that gums in periodontitis are tender when touched but are painless otherwise.

increasing the load on posterior teeth will not cause attachment loss or pocketing. it can make your teeth sore but it doesn't contribute to perioodontitis. pocketing is surprisingly not sore but a little touchy on probing. the good news is that a thorough cleaning and some routine flossing will cure your gums. after that is all clear you should find an orthodontist that you like and you'll be well on your way to perfect teeth.
