I am a pagan.
Of pagan blood I am.
Earth and sky my mother.
My sister and my brother
are the kid and lamb.
I am a pagan.
Of pagan folk am I.
Spirit breath my father.
My friends and foes and others
eat at my bedside.
There are those who come here
in the name of Christ.
With their dogs they run fear
through our forests wide.
Though these are my brothers,
they are not my kin.
Though these are not others,
they are not within.
WOULD THAT THESE BUT KNEW THE CHRIST
THAT THEY PROFESS SO CLEAR.
PAGANS HAVE KNOWN AND LOVED JESUS
FOR SIXTY-THOUSAND YEARS.
Surely they have heard.
In the Beginning was the Word.
