burping in public is not a problem...but making yourself burp orburoing to show off that youcan be as crass as the crassest bloke is a problem...
So if you are burping becauseyou need to burp... by all means do so quietly and politely.

Well the thing is this, if guys picked their noses in public would you do it too? Burping is a natural function of the body, but doing it on purpose in front of people is rude. It's up to you. Do you want to be known as "that girl who's always burping"?

Burping in public is crude whether you're a guy or a girl. My husband does it all the damn time and I think it is disgusting, rude and very uncouth. I can't stand it. Now doing it in your own home or when you're around family or friends is OK, but don't do it in public...Please!

I don't burp out loud in public. If I do have to burp, though, I cover my mouth with my hand and do it as quietly as possible, then I say "excuse me".
Yes, I'm a guy.
No, I don't think it's "sexy" for a girl to burp out loud, either.

Actually, guys won't admit this, but they think it's sexy. Guys like a girl who can be herself. Just as long as you are not letting out huge belches OUT in public. That's kind of embarrassing and rude. If you're doing it while you're at someones house or something like that, you can totally get away with that.

It really isn't "appropriate" for a lady. I can't imagine why it would be appropriate for guys, but why do you think so?
If you want respect and admiration, be a lady and spend time with a guy that you respect, as well. If he is a gentlemen, he will treat you like a lady.
That's what you really want, isn't it?
