There is a spiritual need in every one. It is a need to be reconnected to God. And to deal with fear, death & the unknown. People try to figure it out & end up with false religions & Idols. Jesus came so we can have this spiritual need filled in the truth of God's love. Jesus said, "I am the way, truth & the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.".

True...but then we fear other religions, kill people who believe in other ideas, and have no idea what is REALLY going on. HMMM, seems religion isn't working as planned.
Now, the things that are attributed to the teachings of Jesus make the most sense--love, kindness, rationality, peace, the "golden rule", not judging others, etc. Why can't we even seem to follow those guidelines without going over the edge and arguing about who is the right kind of Christian, who will go to Heaven or hell, etc.?
Maybe nothing and no one can ease us into peace with our lives.

have you ever study The God fantasy? anyhow, sure, I see your aspect, usually accept as true with you...yet faith also serves as a beacon of wish to some human beings. It has helped human beings discover wish in what they imagine is an empty international, it has given the skill for some human beings to conquer hardships (i.e. alcholoism, confusing situations, and so on). i don't think of that this excuses the international from making use of faith as a crutch because they couldn't understand (or do not choose to understand) that we..guy..wrote the Bible, Koran, different non secular texts, no longer some diety whispering into your ear (isn't there a disagnosis for that?) anyhow, faith is both sturdy and undesirable. It holds society lower back, even if it also wwraps us up in a delicate blanket and holds us tight until eventually we nod off into thougtless oblivion.

Are you asking this in the same regard as someone who says it is a way to deal with the weak minded??
In any event Fear..of the Lord is NOT..to be afraid it is respect and reverence,,,so the bible says the fear of the Lord...the reverence ..and respect of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
Death is going to come one way or another..but death in the spirit is separation from the Lord...so yes it deals with that...so that you might learn the way back to God.....
But the unknown...No.... we know in whom we believe ...and trust..The Lord God almighty...you might want to trust him for yourself..like Jesus said take my yoke upon you and learn of me...God bless

Not all men, but plenty. Other people deal with death and the unknown by accepting it as it is.

Having a personal, loving relationship with God, the Father, made possible through the salvation paid for by the Son on the cross. He will grant "peace that passes all understanding" to anyone who asks for it. Only then can you have nothing to fear.

Among other stuff, yeah. It also helps you believe you can make it through another day, allows you to feel thankful, answer un-answerable questions. In addition, religion serves an important social function. It gives us rituals for births, marriages and deaths. That's about it.

religion is the cause of all fear. a baby is born with two fears - falling and loud noises. all other fears are created by us due to lies about death, sin, hell, etc. that are shoved down our throats since before we're old enough to even speak.

Religion will not help you deal with any of that stuuf.
Only repenting of sin and asking Jesus into your life will make any change or restore your peace or remove your fears.

Yes , I would think that's what the whole thing is about. Making up stories and fantasies from day 1 about things that don't make sense to us.
The thing is, science does that quite effectively now, religion seems useless to me.
