i have this molar that has been filled a couple times, (cuz the filling fell out), and there is this bump on the gum below the tooth, it doesn't hurt really...only when I press on the bump....its hot to the touch. Whatcha think will be done???

root canal, you'll probably get a shot of antibiotics (cause it sounds like its infected) and you might have to come back for more antibiotic shots, or they might just give you an antibiotic pill prescription to fill.

If you have a bump on the gum, that usually signifies infection. When the root is infected, it can show through the gums. When you go to the dentist, they will check that area. If you have had your tooth filled several times, then it must have been a temporary filling, not a permenant one. Usually the temps fall out. You need to get a perm. fix for your tooth.

They will exam you and xray you. Your best bet is to go to a dds that has a coupon (if you don't have insurance) that says something like $1 exam and xrays. Something like that. They usually draw patients in that way. Go for your exam and find out what's wrong and they will usually make a payment plan to fix it if you cannot afford it. Dentistry can get really expensive, but if you catch it early, you save a lot of money.
