You can make them as fancy or as plain as you want.

Drain water out of can and scoop tuna into med sized bowl.

Add 2 tbs of mayo and mix.

To dress it up some add 3/4 cup diced and skinned apples, 1/2 cup walnut pieces, 1/3 cup raisins and 1/4 cup chopped onion and 1/4 cup pickle relish- add mayo as desired.

How To Make Tuna

2016-10-02 07:21:38 · answer #3 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

I think everyone makes it differently. I make mine with eggs, tuna, honey mustard, sugar, seasoning salt, pepper, mayo, and onions. What I usually do is put the tuna and all the ingredients listed above except the eggs in container and mix together. Then as the eggs are boiling you put the tuna in the refrigerator until eggs are done. Once eggs are done cut them up in little pieces and add to tuna. And your tuna is ready to make a sandwich............................................................................... Oh yeah and sometimes I add a little paprika on top for decoration. All this might sound a little disgusting to you or other people but if you make it right it is really really good.

I always buy tuna the is in water not oil....I drain tuna real well and then add one small onion, minced, boiled eggs-chopped in pieces, and depending on your taste sweet pickle relish or dill pickles cut into cubes...... a tablespoon or so I just add everything to taste and try not to put too much mayo. I also add Tony Chachere's cajun seasoning to taste. You can just use salt & pepper. I'm just addicted to Tony's...... I add it to everything that I cook or prepare.....It's good stuff!

Here's a healthier alternative, Tuscan style, if you want to impress your friends with something a bit fancier: mix tuna with extra virgin olive oil, a little fresh lemon juice, capers, chopped nicoise olives, diced red onion, and a little crushed roasted garlic, black pepper, and fresh oregano for seasoning. You can also add in some mashed white or cannelini beans to stretch it if you wish. Serve on a rustic whole grain bread with some fresh arugala and sliced tomato, NO MAYO!

Buy the tuna that is packed in water and drain it. Mix it with mayo, chopped onion, and celery. You can also add hard-boiled eggs if you like them and salt and pepper. Refrigerate.
