It is perfectly normal for this little lovebird. Afterall, it has been pulled away from the only surrounding it knew, has strangers staring at it, doesn't know if it is safe or can trust you, and doesn't know where or when to eat now.
You need to be very patient. Right now the little bird is very frightened. Usually it is recommended that a new bird be covered when going to a new enviorment for a little while to get used to the noises it hears and yet the covering offers a little security. Talk gently to the lovebird, call it by name and then talk to it but do not try to grab it. Do not expose the lovebird to loud noises. Right now it doesn't know if the noises will hurt it and could be traumatized by them. The little bird is going to need time to feel secure with it's new owner. You could try to offer a little treat, again using it's new name, but if the little bird does not attempt to get it, leave it alone and just leave the treat. Do not go inside his little cage with your hand just yet. It will need to feel secure in it, it's now his "house".

Usually a lovebird introduced to a new home/cage flaps around like a physcopath.
especially if u go near them.
just b patient, hopefully he will settle in well.
Dont forget, do your homework as far as learning what they need to give them quality of life, that means not just a seed diet.
Plenty of love & attention, get a book on lovebirds or ask at your petshop for some good information.
Lovebirds can live up to approx 15+ years so make sure you do everything in your power to make his life a happy one.

Birds can take some time getting used to it's new home. It should start chirping and moving around more in the next couple of days. Sitting by the cage and talking to it gently should help comfort it. A little extra treat like spray millet will help also.

The bird has just been moved from an invironment that he was used to and taken to someplace that he has never been .....it is very normal for him to be quiet and do nothing. It may take a day or 2 for him to get used to his new surroundings, then he should be like he was when she purchased him.

Was it separated from its mate??? It seems like its adjusting.
If you arent going to be active and bond with tehe bird...best find it a mate. If you wish to be very interactive with the bird it will bond with you and you will ...energy wise...become its mate....So its prolly sitting there waiting fo intteraction and needing to bond

The bird is probably scared and depressed and will just need to get used to its surroundings and bond with your sister.

Yes it is normal. It's trying to figure out where it is, what it's place is and the new surroundings. Wouldn't you?
