That's tricky, there aren't really any standards for who foots the bill anymore. I believe that,the person who does the inviting, takes care of the bill,regardless of gender.

That's a really sticky question. I never asked a guy out.
I never had to pay. - I'd feel pretty insulted if a guy even
suggested we go "dutch" if I were interested in him . Usually,
he picks up the first two dates and then the girl can offer to pay for the third- or pay the tip
But, if you're going for dinner and a movie. Offer to pay for
the dinner and tell her she can pay for the movies.
If you go out for icecream- you pay and tell her she can pick
up the tab next time.
If she asks you to a concert or show- I'd assume she already has tickets- she pays. You can pay for dinner after.
Maybe I'm old school. I'm going to be interested to read the
other responses!

whoever asks, pays! (unless you are going steady, then the guy should pay)
if its a casual friend thing, then that is the only time you would go dutch!

I think she should pay UNLESS she clarifies at the time she does the initial asking that it's "dutch treat"
In this day and age, there is no reason why woman shouldn't pay from time to time.

are you asking him to go out with you? (you pay)
are you asking him to join you on an outing? (dutch)
are you asking him to take you out? (he pays)
It is completely up to you how you ask. Seeing as you find it an issue be clear on the detail when you ask.

The girl should pay since she asked him out so I would say the girl should bring money just incase and see if the guy offers to pay. If he doesnt dump him, if he does then keep him and the cash. haha. Think of it like a test.

I think she should. It's not like it used to be...girls can do the same thing guys can (jobs, etc). It used to be that a guy made the money, so he'd treat. If she asks him out, I think she should pay. Of course, if he's a gentleman, he won't let her...lol

Dutch is good because then nobody feels like they are "owed" anything if you know what I mean.
