You rock. LOL!!! Dang you remind me of someone I used to know- your mind does. Forgive me for reading all your questions- I'd take you out to coffee in a heartbeat, blindfolded just to sit and listen to your questions!!!! ROFL!
Ok, I believe that we don't forget the crucial parts that affected us- but the DETAILS of those events in general fade, as well as their HOLD on our hearts and inner beings. The more power the relationship held for us, throughout it and afterwards, the more of an impression it will have upon us- after all, it was our first entanglement with romance (for most of us).
I mean, was a gun held to your head or were you held and cherished when you were afraid and vulnerable? THAT can affect every relationship you have till you die, especially if it was trauma- and you grew UP in trauma!!!!
MY first I'll never "forget" but I can't hardly remember anything but a few key points and moments- and it lasted like 6 YEARS... I remember FEELINGS and a few images like snap shots and some of the pain afterwards. And I remember her face and how she smelled. And things that have no power over me anymore, and are easily replaced by someone who wants to replace that for me.
The painful loss of my naivety, and the inevitable betrayal I experienced isn’t something I will ever forget. It had beauty to it and innocence and sweetness, and I love her to this day, but I’d never return or want to. Least I don’t think so. Hmmm… I sure hope she is happy!
And I love your questions- just saw the one on musical notes!!! HOLY HECK! LOL! Dang I love how your mind works!

I would certainly say so...
I even remember a lot about the first guy I ever seriously liked, and we haven't talked in five years.
And I will never forget the first guy I fell in love with, because he was my best friend, we went through a lot together, and even though our relationship ended on kind of a crappy note, he'll always have a little piece of my heart. I just hope no girl or guy has to suffer the pain I suffered with him and because of him...

I do belive that is true. It has been a year and a half and I still love him. There was a period before we started dating where I started loving him, so even when I would be dating someone I would still think about him and wounder what he was doing. So I can say yes.

I know I do and it has been 22 years now. I still remember sitting in my 65 Falcon and listening to the chimes of the courthouse clock at midnight. She took a piece of my heart to NY and never looked back. I still think of her at times, but, I have been married now for 18 years.

Yes, it was instant attraction and a sweet pure love. I've never forgotten her. She has a golden piece of my heart that no other can ever touch.

I have no idea. Maybe if I got into a car accident and someone ran into me really hard. I still remember my first, but only the memories, not the feelings.
