He is probably just displaying normal curiosity that shows up during the toilet training years. But it is a good idea to see a doctor to make sure.

Sigmud Freud said that kids between 1 and 6 years explore their sexuality in various ways, he mentions that anal exploration is a normal and even fundamental activity to explore. Anal exploration can be done by touching scracthing, and even by just paying attention to how does it feels when he poo's so, it may be normal. However it may be also sexual abuse, my advice is not to concern until your doctor gives an opinio, good lock hopefully is just part of his development and not sexual abuse.

My son went through this same thing, believe it or not girls do the same but in their vaginal area, it's just there they'll explore it eventually they will stop, it's nothing to get anxious about, give him a year or two he'll move to the front. None of is sexual, it's just curiosity!

A couple of my kids went far enough to paint lovely brown pictures with the contents of their diapers. I wouldn't worry a whole lot.

Sound like he is just exploring, but having a doctor look for trauma is a good idea.

It sounds like sexual abuse, but it's better to ask the doctor.
