The only difference between dye for girls and dye for guys is that there are more colors to choose from in girls' dye (and the pictures on the front are of girls, of course). If you dye your hair with a dye for girls, no one is going to notice. I promise you.
It really amazes me that people are so scared to buy something that's marketed for the other sex. If it's useful, get it. If it's not, don't.

There is no difference in the dye. Just pick a color you like. Who cares if there is a pic of a woman on the box.

Well it all depends. Is the hair color you have now your natural hair or has it been colored before? If it has been colored I reccommend you to bleach it with "Quick Blue" bleach (sold in beauty supply stores, do NOT trust bleach you may find in grocery stores). Then after bleaching it pick out a toner (a hair color) and color it.

Dye is dye, in my opinion. I think the only reason why they sell hair dye in boxes for men is because men somehow feel emasculated buying women's hair dye. Go for it.

Try using the pantene highlights that are specifically made to lighten blondes, brunnettes, and redheads. That will brighten your hair and make them shiny and glossy.

I would go to a salon. It's more expensive, but the store bought stuff has a tendency to turn your hair orange.
