This morning while I was getting ready for work, my leg started itching real bad, on the under side, where the upper calve, meets the thigh. I didn't think anything about, when I got to work, it started itching really bad again, along with a burning sensation, I assumed it was burning, due to the friction, with me having jeans on. When I got home, there was a huge whelp, in the entire area, that was itching, along with redness and a blister like bubble, was in the middle of this huge whelp. The blister was small, but when I started itching it, it got bigger. I plan on going to the doctors tomorrow, if it's still swollen. What do you think it could be? Other than the burning sensation, I feel fine.

Definitely get it checked out. I just discovered that I've been living with brown recluses & black widows, and I got the worst spider bite of my life about a month ago (muscle spasms, raised tender red area on my left thigh with pus infection, fever, pain, etc.).

Here's something you might want to check out (but beware, the photos are graphic):

Yes. Spider bites swell up quite ugly. I had a few on my legs two years ago and they didn't go away for a couple of weeks. Maybe get a cream from a doctor or something.... and be careful when you shave ( yowch! painful memories)

If you start to see more whelts like it it could be hives, a sign of an allergic reaction. Consult your doctor if you feel that it is more than just a spider bite.

in the middle of it can you see a hole or sumthing...the place where it bit you? i'd assume it's a spider bite because it's getting bigger
