Some say we are already fighting WW3, I tend to agree with this sentiment, the only debate I see is when did it start? Some contend it began on Sept. 11, Others say it began when Al Quida attacked the USS COLE, or the Kobahr Towers or even during the Blackhawk Down stuff in Somalia.
I think until the provocation of Sept. 11, 2001, it was a pretty one-sided fight, that is they'd do their thing and we'd throw a few Tomahawks back here and there. But the real strategic warfare didn't begin until we began taking Afghanistan. The few retaliatory strikes we made before then where little more than tit for tat, hitting only marginally important targets with no strategic significance.
Now about your questions...
War is not civil - its war... Kill the enemy... that's it... nothing more, nothing less.
TOO FAR???
You need to explain... too far away? too far with collateral damage? too far with numbers of troops deployed? too far with weapons systems used?
As I said the point of war is to kill/destroy the enemy. once the enemy is dead. Your objective has been met. That's when you stop. In the meantime you do all you can to kill the enemy. Are we (USA) going too far? Not an inch too far.

There is always a war going on. Just because it is not in the news, do not think that around 10 or more wars are being fought at all times. So no, we are not on the bring of world war 3, I think people have more concerns closer to home than what other countries are doing, especially since many countries now have independence from the Empires. Why would African states care about what is happening in the Middle East when they are fighting a war of attrition?

No, we are not on the brink of WW III. Diplomacy has been tried, Israel asked for kidnapped soldiers release & got a silent NO.
It is hard to to deal with terrorist ramming planes into our buildings. Terrorist want unconditional surrender & free nations will never give an unconditional surrender. War is neccessary but not always evil, if the cause is just. Only history books will decide if the causes are just. We who live through them are rarely able to not be bigoted in our view of the wars to decide if they are just or not.

Yes, we are on the brink of horrible warfare spreading across the planet like the herps. This one possibly being the worst due to the unrest not only against other countries, but the civil unrest within. We are standing at the brink of the next dark age, so enjoy the light while you have it.

No, they have been fighting in the middle east for thousands of years. Do you think it will change? WW3 won't even start to happen if there is one until 2030 however...
