I recently just bought a new home phone. Before i purchased this phone, we had telemarketers leaving messages like crazy on the old one. Its like its phenomenon. I got the new phone, and now they are gone. For awhile i wasnt sure if it was working right, but it is.

When you purchased your new phone, did you also purchase a telephone service package? Maybe you bought into a blocking service where the caller has to identify him/herself before the call is put through.
If you only bought a new phone and nothing else then it's just coincidence.

i doubt it's because of your new phone. just be glad you're not getting pestered by them anymore.
ps: you may have signed up for the "do not call list" that came out a couple years ago.
