Well I myself am Mormon, and its true we don't have more than one wife now. and all that other stuff. I'm proud to be mormon, and don't want to change. I don't care what other people think of me, if they hate me, if they think our church isn't true. and it is true. I know. We are the ONLY true church on earth. and I'm happy to be mormon. I'm proud, nothing people say to me or say about me or do, I will ALWAYS be mormon, always! no matter what. I don't care what other people think of me. some poeple like us, some don't and say bad things, but most things they say are WRONG. don't believe what they say, their most likley not true, trust me. so I'm proud to be mormon and I don't know about the rest of you but I love my church the people, and my religion., and nothing can change that.

All I know is mormons say they follow the Bible they just have the extra book. But why is it then when the "missionaries" come knocking on my door I asked them who was the gold guy on the temple they said it was the founder of the church???????? What is that?? doesn't the Bible say put no idles be foe Me???? and your idealizing this guy and the only founder of the church should be Jesus no man.So you are already going against the Bible. And when you ask them a question they say they have to have the Deacon get back to us. Don't be sending these young kids out that don't know anything about what they think they know. Go to a real church a good christian church where you can learn about Jesus. mormon is a man made religion how can anyone believe in a man made religion????

I think that you are correct about some people being uneducated about what the Mormons believe.....but there are plenty of things that people do fully understand.
Mormons do not believe in the Trinity. That Jesus of Nazareth pre-existed prior to becoming human and had a hand in the creation of the world....that he was fully human and fully divine---the hypostatic union.
Really it is THAT key issue that most Christians take issue with.
The Mormons do have an EXCELLENT philosophy on family and child rearing....

I had a roommate who was a Mormon, and I'm friends with one. From what they have told me, Mormons are very family oriented people, believe in obeying the laws of the land, and have a deep faith in Jesus Christ. Mormons follow the Bible and the Book of Mormon as being accurate testaments of the world before Jesus came, while he was here, and the spread of Christianity afterward. As for my own thoughts, I don't agree with Mormonism, but respect those who believe it.

Honestly, I dont know much. I did know that you no longer practiced poligamy. I am also aware that you do not believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God (am I correct?)
Dont know much else. I was raised in a Baptist church. I didnt think that (other than the major issue of Jesus) that there was a huge difference in what mormons believed & what I was raised with.
Not a big fan of organized religion anyway, however. If you can change your mind about how you practice your religion, who is to say that someone else with another interpretation will come along & change things again.
Please realize that I mean absolutely no disrespect however. Just stating my case. :)

The name Mormon comes from the angel Moroni who supposedly gave Joseph Smith the golden plates in which the book of Mormon was written and was hidden in a hill in upstate NY.
If it had not been for Utah wanting to be a State, the majority of Mormons today would practice poligomy!

Hmmm... Ok.. first.. I haven't read all of the responses before mine yet...
but.. Shaun T... quotes from Deut 14:25 about tithing... but totally ignores Deut 14:24 which sets up the conditions for it...
14:24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
14:25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
14:26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
14:27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
and...
totally ignores who the passage was written about.. all of Deut 14... was talking about Israelites... being a peculiar people... I'm not sure if it still applies to all Christians... since Jesus had his Deciples go and teach even the gentiles...
for those who think that we don't believe in Jesus being the Son of God... we do believe that Jesus IS the ONLY Begotten Son of God. We also believe that all of us... everyone on earth... are spirit children of God the Father... and we have come to this earth to receive the gift of a Physical body... and to be tested to see if we would do all that God commands...
We believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ his only Begotten Son, and the Holy Spirit... each is a unique and individual being... but they all have the same will... and that is the will of God...
oh.. and we don't worship Moroni.. the angel statue on the chapels...
No cross... we believe in Jesus.. not the instrument of his death.
Hmmm... upside down pentagons...is that possible? Aren't pentagons symetrical? I never saw any... and I was Married in the Salt Lake Temple...
high up members of the Church are rich? Oh yes!!! But they are NOT PAID Clergy of the Church!! Because NONE of our Clergy are paid by the Church. (some are reimbursed for travel expenses or other expenditures for Church purposes)...
Hmmm... well.. I believe that people who are very blessed should be rich... and people who have spent their lives as heart surgeons, doctors, tradesmen, and other educated people should make more money than someone who delivers pizza for a living. We believe in getting all the education that we can get...
but... I am poor... not having been a member for very long... and not long out of college... and newly married... with two children... and those that I have met in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who possess great wealth... treat me as an equal. They do not talk down or demean me in any way.
ok.. well.. this is already way too long... and the spell checker is down.. so I can't check this... please forgive my misspellings.

I know there is no other book to follow besides the Holy Bible. Joseph Smith was a common man and was not a prophet. You can't repopulate and have spirit wives. You say you believe in God but you do not display the cross on your so-called church.
