Yep, it's possible - and anyone who tells you otherwise is a damn liar. My second was conceived while I was on depo. You have to take the shot regularly (every 3 months, which can vary by a few days and your appointment might be too late which would mean a GREAT chance of pregnancy) and you also have to avoid other medications. Not only that, but you still have to have PROTECTED sex if you do decide to have sex. The only way to NOT get pregnant is to abstain completely.. meaning not have sex at ALL.

Also with the Depo, you might get a negative test for a while even if you are pregnant. Have the DR do a blood test before you get another shot.. because you could be pregnant.

Depo Provera is 97-99.7% effective as birth control.

So - there's the margin. You may very well be one of the people that is in that 3-.3% with a bun in the oven.

Good luck!

No birth control is considered 100% effective except for abstinence. I'm not preaching abstinence but that's the way it goes. Even then you have to be careful; I've heard about girls who got semen on their underwear and wound up pregnant. Those sperm are tenacious little buggers.
