Find another church. Before a man "puts on the cloth and collar," he is first a man. Not all priests, ministers, or rabbis are good speakers. Why are you fidgitty in church? Guilty or bored? I happen to be Catholic. I have found few priests to be dynamic speakers, but I go there for the Mass. The church has an atmosphere all its own and I feel God's presence. Don't you have any religious background? If you want to learn, perhaps you should check into bible classes.

When you enter a church next time, take out the bad image that every preacher is lier. Put your mind in "neutral" position. Do not let that kind of thinking controlling your mind.

If you can't control your mind and still believe that all teaching and preachers are liers, then you should not go to church.

Nobody in this world is perfect. You know that politicians are even worst. Preachers are not perfect too, but at least they talk something good.

First off satan has control of your thought pattern! By this I mean he is telling you that the preacher is in it just for the money and that he is a fake.
God is trying to get your attention and that is probably the reason you are getting all fidgety when you step foot into a church.
Try this next time you go to church--Pray and ask God what it is He is trying to say to you, before you even walk in the door!

Because you have a conscience and soul and and a mind that is capable of thinking rather than only following. Trust your own heart and don't let it be subservient to any ideology that you yourself do not truly believe.

Consider the words of the poem "Invictus", by William Ernest Henley.

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

This beautiful poem's image has been tainted by the fact that it was quoted by Timothy McVeigh before his execution, but that does not diminish or pervert its spirit of independance.

To thine own self be true.

There could be a number of reasons for your reaction.

Try another church (maybe even one of a different type like methodist, baptist and such)

Personally I dont really trust preachers so i just do my thing at home (of course it doesnt help that I am not exactly christian *L*)

I would suggest just reading the bible and maybe getting some people you trust to commune with. I love the bible.. it is insightful and full of funny bits.. tip read proverbs.. it is my fav *lol*

Interesting.

You might have had a really intense experience involving a priest either when you were too young to remember or perhaps even in a previous life.

If you believe in that stuff.

Anyway, I guess some priests really are fakers that are in it for the money.

Get ready for some hardcore catholics to give you a sermon or two with their answers.

Most "real" pastors don't make very much money. They have to work hard and be truly talented and they earn diddely squat. At least that is how it is at my church. He is so intelligent and gifted and I know he makes less than he is worth. Go to that kind of church and you will feel less resentful, and more willing to believe what he says. I agree, that if a pastor, preacher or whatever is paid richly it is harder to stomach what they say. So, it sounds to me like you need to visit other churches, and find a truly humble servant of God to listen to.

Churches make you nervous. Don't go.

Failing that, go to another church. See another preacher. See if you have the same reaction.

Test it as you would a food allergy. "Does this make it worse?" "I don't get the reaction from x but I do from y, what's in y that isn't in x..." etc.

(preacher, church, sect, day, time...)

edit: cool, you got a christian, a wiccan and a neutral responce right off =P

It seems to me you are in a spiritual battle.........the devil is trying to take your mind, and thoughts away from learning about Jesus.........he doesnt want you to believe a word you are hearing from the preacher.......to think that you could love Jesus and give your life to Him scares the devil, so he launches an attack which the Holy Spirit is counter attacking........so you get fidgety and break out into the cold sweats....dont you give into those thoughts or feelings ok.

Jesus loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you.......run to Him and pray without ceasing and I know you will come away with the victory because all who know Jesus, accept Him into their lives and hearts and confess their wrong doings and do their best to turn from those wrong doings are saved by Jesus and will live eternally in Heaven with him one day.

Stay strong in the Lord, keep on going to church and learning all you can about Jesus........and rebuke the devil in the name of Jesus and he has to flee.

Good luck to you and God bless.

You might be paranoid and have convinced yourself that you are "posessed" but some demon. Although I get the same feeling about World Harvest Church.
