i know loads of people who're gothic and all.. well.. they think its so cool when they're just looking like bunch of b*stards and sl*ts with overusage of black makeup (etc).. no offense to everyone.. just a discussion..

There could be a number of reasons why one would dress gothy. One reason could be they want to show their individuality, or they might just like the look. They might want to fit in or think it makes them look cool. Some may find it sexy. Whatever the reason, it is their right to do so.
Just because you dont like the look, doesnt necessarily mean that it wrong. Nor does it imply that they are b*stards or sl*ts. You can have a b*stard or sl*t in a flannel shirt and blue jeans. What you wear doesnt necessarily make you who or what you are. Personality does.
Personally, the goth look does attract my attention more than your average t-shirt and jeans look. It is different and new, but not necessarily wrong. I will not judge someone for what they wear, but for what they do and have done.
There are really two kinds of goth. The true goth and the fake goth. The fake goth just wears the black clothes and makeup to fit in, to be cool, or perhaps because they like the look. The true goth, is basicall deep, dark, and gloomy. They generally are severely depressed, but not always. They may just have an entirely difeerent outlook on society than someone else.
I happen to know a few goths, and most of them are the fake goth. They just like the look. The couple that are true goth, still are very nice, very sane people. They just have a slightly different attraction to life/death. So to say that all goths are depressed morons is a very vague stereotype.

I don't understand the goth thing, but from what I see, they're all part of one big pity party. They're all depressed and pouting around about how life sucks. But at the same time, they show up on sites like this looking for love. Huh? If you find someone that has that in common with you....you both like to be depressed, mope around like a walking Smiths song, and just rant about how the world sucks....then you like each other's company and so make each other.....happy???? Sounds like a contradiction to me. And why do you have to dress black and wear black makeup to show you're goth? Because that's what the other goths do. So much for individualism and trying to be different. Another contradiction.

Some gothic clothing is actually pretty cool (corsets and some dresses), and the makeup's kind've cool too. But moping around saying "I'm goth and depressed" isn't all that cool.

I think that if they are happy to dress like that, then let them. It is just like the way that we dress. I am atheletic and will pick a pair of sweatpants, a hoodie, and tennis shoes over anything else in my wardrob. I hate dressing up if I have to. My bf would rather wear a pair of pants and a tee over dress clothes anyday. I think that it is just the way they feel comfortable and that is how they are happy, so ley them.

Well I guess its just their since of style. Even if they do it so they arnt in the style clique they have crated their own. I used to be crazy like that too, Wear crazy cloths, have black, red, blue, purple...hair colors...its all individuality when you go right down to the nitty gritty

Re-read your question and highlight the word "ALMOST." Every trend has adherants and detractors. Goths think jocks are horrific, and vice versa. Just follow your own path and respect everyone else no matter how weird you think they are.

Why does it matter? They are not hurting anyone by dressing the way they do, so what's the problem. They feel comfortable in what they wear.

i went out with one once and was friends with lots of his friends. they just like being like that. why do guys wear their pants around their ankles? why is the sky blue? why-because they want to.

i dont no but my sister is turning into that and it scares the **** out of me shes lyk all emo **** all she talks about is death and living is awaste of death uh thank god i only see twicw a week
