Does having a cystoscopy hurt?

I dont know about one for a women. Iam a man and have them often,i have bladder cancer. There are two types..rigid and flexible.flexible as the name implies is less painfull.Rigid is a pipe that they literally hammer down your urethra until it reaches your bladder.Men also have a prostate that it passes through so it could be very painful.as a women you might get away painless.ask them to use lidocaine first it will numb the area.I can only suggest that it would be similar to a catheter if you ever had one of those..hope this helps

It's uncomfortable, but doesn't hurt.
