it's most likely a matter of lubrication and arousal - when you're fully aroused, the vagina actually lengthens and prepares for penetration - which means that you actually have less discomfort during sex (especially if you're having problems with 'deeper' positions)..it's also possible that your partner needs to be slightly gentler until you ARE fully aroused. Since lubrication might also be an issue, try a little KY and see if that makes any difference. If after trying these things you're still having pain, bring it up to your OBGYN as it could be a symptom of an underlying condition.

It is normal. Don't worry. We all can't be porn stars. Me for example, my cervix is 1/2 inch in so I have a lot of discomfort in some positions but some days those uncomfortable positions turn out to be the best position. You just have to experiment and make it fun!

Experimenting to find the most comfortable position for sexual intercourse is quite normal for everyone. Changing positions is also normal because some positions are uncomfortable to some people.

Normal. You may have a tilt to your vaginal canal that is causing some positions to work better than others. As for the fact that all positions are comfortable at times - the vaginal canal can stretch up to 2 inches based on your level of arousal.
Next time you see your doctor, mention it and ask if there is anything anatomical that would explain this.

Totally normal!
Make your man give you plenty of foreplay, to the point that you are craving to have him inside you. By that point, the vagina should be well-lubricated and the muscles relaxed. (Even then, sometimes it just isn't comfortable. Time to "settle" for having him satisfy you orally!)

I have been told that you need to be wet or very turned on before you have sex for it not to hurt.

You're not relaxing; probably having muscle spasms in the wrong place. have a glass of wine and then make love.
