This is the most wonderful question and sadly unlikely question of the day... THANK YOU for it! Yes, that would be a realy GOOD thing! Just imagine being able to round them all up, put them on an island where they could slowly committ all the atrocities on each other that they wished... it would be a WONDERFUL EXPERIMENT. Take all the 'Zionist' Jews, members of Hezbollah and the other myriad of Arab terrorist groups, & the militant extremist Christian sects and let 'em go at it for a month... then, set them down and ask them if they "learned anything?" Most would still be "hardened of heart," so we'd let 'em go for another month... I wonder if any of them would eventually soften their views of hatred & intolerance. H-m-m-m-m, I wonder...

They do fight among themselves as well. One terrorist faction may target another faction that doesn't believe as they do or is negotiating peace with a mutual enemy.
Also, keep in mind that the only thing that truly qualifies these people as terrorists is they are so small in numbers that they don't have a unified government and a state run military. To the English, the Americans who dumped the tea in Boston were terrorists. I know you won't like that, but it's true.
Am I equating the American revolution to al-Quaida? No (despite what knee-jerk conservatives are thinking right now). I'm just bringing up the VERY ugly fact that terrorism is always defined by those in power, whether it's simply rebellion against oppression (the U.S. revolution) or religious fanatacism gone insanely wrong (al-Quaida).
If you use the real definition of terrorism, there are groups killing each other faster than I can type.

The reason they became terrorists and not soldiers is because they are cowards. The attack unsuspecting innocents because those are the people they can kill at no risk to themselves. After all, it's not the suicide bombers who benefit from their actions, it's the people sitting safe at home watching television and sipping coffee. What are the odds a member of President Bush's family is ever going to die in Iraq, or of any high ranking Republic war supporter?

What a naive question. Sorry but it IS kinda naive to ask that. One man's meat is another's poison. I know its old cliche, but in the same way one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. So to say someone's gonna carry out a "war" on terrorism is naive and has fundamental flaws. You can't carry out a war on terrorism, its like fighting a ghost. The only way to reduce or stop terrorism is to resolve the problem from the "freedom fighters" point of view and to behave responsibly so our actions don't come back to bite us in the ***.

well in a way i think that our president is fighting in the name of something. So, all the people that are killed are essentially working for a greater cause to kill for an ideology (democracy being the ideology). So, in way we are terrorists just fighting for a different cause.

They do not believe in only attacking legitimate military targets. They love to murder people, even the ones that they claim that they are fighting for. How refreshing it would be to hear or see news reports that they are finally killing each other.

Cuz they are on that side and we are on this side.
Terrorism is about instilling fear in a population. It's not much good if the civilians don't fear it. It's not a military act. To make civilians fear violence, there has to be a reasonable expectation of a terrorist attack affecting civilians. The only way to create that expectation in peoples' minds is to actually attack civilians.

There is an arabic saying, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" The terrorists do fight amongst other terrorists unless they have a common enemy they can focus their hate on then they fight that enemy together.
