I see a lot of Creationists try to use the lack of evidence for evolution as proof for creationism. To them, why do you think this is evidence, and just why????

Same logic as they use to "disprove" evolution.

Evolution is a scientific explanation to explain how we came into being. Any scientific explanation is subject to testing, experimentation, and refining; in other words it can change as new evidence is obtained.

Creationism is really a metaphysical statement. there are many accounts of a Divine creation, a couple of which are in the Western Scriptures; others may be found in Hindu or Buddhist writings.

The two things, Science and Faith, are perfectly compatible. Science deals with things that can be proved or refuted by tangible evidence of some sort. Faith, by its nature, deals with the aspects of life that cannot be measured by the tools of science; the existence and nature of the soul for example.

A basic, perhaps the basic, aspect of faith is simply trust. I have faith, trust, in God's righteousness. I also believe certain things about God; those beliefs are a result of an intellectual process. That process may lead to wrong beliefs, but I have faith, trust, in God even when I may be wrong.

Science involves belief, an intellectual process; creationism also involves belief, an intellectual process. Either of these can be wrong; my faith, my trust, transcends correctness/incorrectness. It simply IS.

Its an attempt to 'steal' that slice of the christian market who are engaged in sharing their particular brand of christianity to the 'unchurched'. This tactic of course works best with those who are not skilled with logical discourse and the effort required to 'get at truth'.
This tactic of 'proving' evolution false supposedly meaning that creationism is true, as if by default, is really an admission that creationism HAS NO empirical evidence. And this is why creationist have to resort to these tactics. In an attempt to rally the support of the uninformed and try and bully their way into
children's minds, and then onto controlling the world, and bring the world back into an state of theocratic chaos.
I believe my answer fits all the facts attested to in history, philosophy and information revealed in studies into the human phsycology
NOTE: The teaches of creationism do not believe disproving evolution is evidence. To them its a "faith" issue: faith = believing without evidence something you are told by a person you dont know about something that has no parallel in reality. Yeah I know its ridiculous....but thats what people of faith do.

Merry christmass.

It doesn't -- or rather, it wouldn't, given that evolution has not been disproven. It is more fair to say that the evidence supporting evolution is incomplete than to say there is a lack of evidence.

The main issue is burden of proof -- just as scientists are charged with collecting fossils and such, theists are charged with presenting evidence to support the claim that an all-knowing deity created everything.

To say that one disproves the other is a logical fallacy. They are independent ideas which must stand on their own to be proven, because it is possible for other theories to exist (I don't know what they would be, but the possibility exists).

It would be wrong for a Creationist to say that the Theory of Evolution is wrong simply because there is a lack of evidence. However, it does become rather difficult for Fundamentalist Christians to reconcile the two; so, just as those who radically support evolution, there will be those that radically support Creationism.

well, this is the logic of the children of the corn,

1. genesis 1:26-27 and 2:7 say god made the human without intermediate steps, creationism, and was accepted by all who were conquered by them for centuries

2. evolution is the only credible competeing theory, and it shakes the fondation of genesis accounts

so,

3. if they can make the competing theory "debunk" then theres a possibility that people will turn to the genesis, which means "they win" souls for jesus or whatever, but we the normal people lose a human being who was living a good perfectly normal happy authentic life doing expiriments that show such things as DNA being shared with chimpanzees, or carbon dating that australopitihicus fossil

Simply because these are the only two alternatives. Even the evolutionist agrees with the logic. According to evolutionist D.J. Futuyma, "Creation and Evolution, between them, exhaust the possible explanations for the origin of living things. Organisms either appeared on the earth fully developed or they did not. If they did not, they must have developed from preexisting species by some process of modification. If they did appear in a fully developed state, they must have been created by some omnipotent intelligence." (_Science on Trial_, p. 197)

No. that would basically practice if evolution & creationism have been the only 2 possibilities. that's an rather black-and-white way of finding at issues while there continues to be room for gray. i be attentive to individuals who have faith in the two, like God created each and everything yet additionally initiated the technique of evolution.

Evolution says that life came out of nothing. Creation says that life came from life specifically came from God.
Disprove evolution and we are left with Creation wherein life came from God. It is evidence that life did not just appear out of nowhere and evolved but that it was a divine thing that happened.

things seem to be on purpose to me. look at a banana it fits perfectly into your hand it curves toward your mouth and it has a pull tab. I think that there is a creator and many other things prove thisbesides the lack of evidence for evolution. Look in ezekiel 38 it is like reading the headlines of today.

It doesn't.

But, creationism is about the only view left over and it's one that some scientists even believe in!

I suppose one can go through life not worrying "how we got here" and "what it's all about!"

What is that, ultimate exestentialism!
